I have just bought a dongle and I can connect it to my iPhone over Bluetooth without issue. However in Car Scanner I can’t get it to connect to the ECU. See attached screen grabs. Anyone have any ideas where I am going wrong?

Looking at the listing, it looks a bit too cheap. The cheap ones that work tend to be in the £20 price point. I bought a
Vgate iCar Pro BLE and it works great on Android and should work on iPhone.

If you want a good experience go for and obdlink or comparable priced products. For me it was worth it more than dealing with crappy cheap ones I had before.

I have the obdlink lx and I am very satisfied. It connected flawlessly to our yaris, previously owned tesla model s and my BMW motorcycle. The Lx is good for android devices, mx is better for iPhone.

Yes but will it connect to an MG ZS. That’s the key question as this is a group for MG EVs

Does anyone have a device working on an MG ?

Can anyone advise which App too ?

I am an Apple user so really want to know about Apple connectivity. However I do also have an Android if needs be.

I have similar problems with my MG5 LR 2022 PFL and a cheap ebay Dongle (BTLE works fine between android phone and the dongle, cant connect to ECU).. No joy with car scanner or a few others. My phone seems too ancient to install Torques. ABRP doesnt see the dongle when scanning.

EODB Facile app connects if I try the MG4 profile though only get limited info (zero fault codes as expected), no data.

Guess I will try a vgate or odblink.

Adding pics of my dodgy dongle

Have a look at this thread, it may be nothing to do with the dongle.
