Dear all,

The nice man from Cazoo has just taken our ZS EV away. We‘ve had it for 10 months and done 9003 miles in it. The average fuel economy over that distance has been 3.6 miles per kWh. I really can’t be bothered to work out the cost of the electricity used. We’ve rapid charged a handful of times but have mainly used our home Zappi charger fed either by Octopus Go or “free” power from the solar PV and/or battery system.

We enjoyed our ownership, although there are a few things about the car we weren’t impressed by, all of which have been covered on here by other owners through many previous and ongoing posts.

We have a new Zoe 50 with winter pack on order, which will be a few weeks yet - but given the amount we were paid for the MG we don’t mind waiting and we have a couple of other cars in the household. We were paid 6.2% more than the car cost us.

I‘ll keep looking in on here from time to time as I’m intrigued by what MG have planned for the updated ZS EV.

All the best - Rob

Good luck Bob - all the best and thanks for your messages over the past wee while.

There's been a few that's moved on after getting some 'crazy' (or 'fantastic', depending on which way you look at it! ;)) quotes for the ZS EV's.

Hope to hear from you again!

Cheers

It really is a good time to “Jump Ship” if you can source another EV at a good price.
Interesting that you have gone for a small(ish) hatchback after having a small(ish) sized SUV.
Anybody thinking about switching, now is the time alright !.
This craziness at the petrol stations has probably increase the value of EV’s by another couple of hundred quid over night !.
Once they reported that a FEW stations had closed on the national news on Thursday due to a shortage of drivers, it has sparked an absolute feeding frenzy.
This has just made the problem 100 times worse for some people.
Now there WILL be a shortage of fuel because everybody will be filling there cars to the MAX and therefore creating a shortage.
The news last night showing people filling up a line of large petrol cans and there cars at the same time, then the same person returning one hour latter in another car and repeating the process over and over again !.
Another toilet ? roll “Smash And Grab” race ?.
They will be rationing / limited the volume of petrol sold by the middle of next week at this rate.
Bloody ridiculous panic ? buying !.

This delay to the delivery of my LR couldn't come at a worse time.

I've got a drive to London and back in 2 weeks time and I was hoping to have gotten rid of my ICE by then.

Hope when it comes to the time there will petrol for me to get there and back

@Lincs Robert I am thinking/hoping to do the same, I have my quote, valid for 7 days. How quick is the process when you start to take it up ?
What was the inspection like, not expecting any problems, but have WBAC at the back of my mind.

I have to say excellent all the way through. I think the quote was valid for a week after it was issued. The only “extra” was a £50 deduction for them to collect my car. Considering I’m in Lincoln, the collection driver came from Manchester so that was half a day of his wages plus the cost of diesel for his flatbed.

The collection process only took about 5 mins. They ask that you wash the car, which I did and vacuumed it as well. I also had all the paperwork ready, including an email printout from MG saying that there was no service book and that the car didn’t NEED a service until the end of Nov. He checked my ID, checked the V5 and then inspected the car. It had collected a small scratch in the last week - but he said it was no problem. The funds appeared immediately he pressed the transaction end button on his tablet.

Ten out of ten for the whole experience.

I‘ve used WBAC before so totally get your comments on that one. When my father stopped driving they offered a headline price of £1900 for his car which fell to £1100 by the time all the adjustments had been made. On reflection I wish I’d told them to stick it & bought it as a runaround now - but hindsight’s a wonderful thing ain’t it.

A toddler, a newborn and a wife recovering from a c section. Not train material

Sounds to me like you will either find the fuel and go in the ICE, or use it as a legitimate excuse not to make the journey. I’m going to Devon from Lincolnshire next week - but am not in the least bit worried about it ….. What will be will be.

@Lincs Robert Thanks for that sounds good. How long was it between you accepting offer online and them turning up to take it away ?

I went to the end of the 7 day offer window, so yesterday was the last day the offer was valid. Be careful though as they changed the appointment on me after I’d accepted it & was lucky to get another one the same day. Once you accept their offer you then have to decide to deliver the car to them or have it collected, if the later they then give you a choice of appointments over the remainder of the 7 day window- so in my case I have a choice of 7 days worth - but not each day had slots available.

@Lincs Robert , I know you get 7 days to accept the offer, my time is up at 23:59 tonight,. How long after accepting the offer do you get to deliver the car to them / have it picked after that. ? Is it another 7 days ?

Gomev You leaving us?
Yes and no, maybe.
Got a ridiculous offer from Cazoo, virtually what I paid for mine, and have just ordered a LR 5. Waiting for approval for the affinity price and as soon as that comes will confirm a sale to cazoo.
Biggest fear is not having an EV at all.
I am gambling that the new ZS LR will be a heftier price, as will any facelifted 5, therefore current LR 5 may be the last cheapish 250 miler.

I'd not be too worried, even if the offer does run out, running it through the system will get you another similar offer as the market hasn't changed, if anything, it might even be slightly higher than the last one. I got three offers from Cazoo over a month whilst making up my mind what to do and every time it was a little more!

I think you might be right on now being a sweet spot time to get the long range car as well. Pretty nice deal with the affinity scheme. :)
