Lane Assist Trying To Kill Me!

I'd take an e-mtb and camping gear in the back for weekends out playing. The back seats spent a lot of time folded down ?.
There was enough room when they were up for the weekly 'Big Shop' .... what else is there ??

It was only a fleeting impression. Also that if you folded the back seats down, I was doubtful if you'd get the space to put an airbed out full length. Could be wrong.

I'm not wrong that it's the most plug-ugly thing in creation though.

NCAP are looking at forcing more buttons
I personally think everything on a screen is dangerous & it looks like NCAP now agree

I think you're right, but I think the MG4 is mostly a reasonable compromise with the steering wheel buttons. You can also get to the stage where there are so many buttons that finding the right one is at least as dangerous as the screen thing.

My neighbour has a Fiesta and the number of buttons on the central console simply boggles my mind.

The total number of buttons on the steering wheel seems about right although a thumb wheel on either side wouldn't go amiss for things like selecting from a contacts or radio station list.

I'd also prefer to clutter the dashboard with a few more buttons if it meant that all operations that often need to be done while driving, can be done from the steering wheel, stalks or dashboard. This doesn't mean those operations can't be done from the screen as well for those who prefer it or are new to the car.

To that end a 2nd stalk on one side for all the acc / limiter controls seems to work well on some other cars, and would free up buttons on the wheel.

Remember the good ol' daze {sigh} ...
Steering wheel (x1)
Gear knob (x1)
Handbrake (x1)
Pedals - clutch(x1), brake(x1), throttle (x1)
Seats ( several)
Window winders ( manual or luxurious electric)
Luxury options : Radio (casette, laterly CD).
Air conditioning and windscreen blower.
Nearly forgot - windscreen wipers ( front only, 1 speed...maybe 2 if you were lucky).

Kids today just wouldn't believe you ??

My last car (MB) had three stalks and it was a problem. The cruise control stalk and the turn indicator stalk were placed so close together that one could easily be mistaken for the other. Occasionally the car started accelerating (tapping the stalk up was "resume cruise") when all I wanted to do was indicate turning right, not fun when approaching a corner.

The other stalk was the gear selector and unfortunately for many drivers because the side the indicator stalk resides is not standard too often they put the car out of gear when driving when they had intended to use the turn signal.
