I’ve noticed on a few pics that quite a few have this function switched on. How do you cope with it? I tried but after 20mins I had to deactivate it - it drove me nuts. Am I missing something?

Waste of time on the MG as Kithmo says just sometimes works. On my A class it worked a treat and really woke you up when it braked sharply pulling you back in lane. Quite aggressive.

Picked my new car up today, 100 mile trip home, mainly M25/M1.
I was playing with the settings the whole journey - still can't quite figure some out.
The adaptive cruise control is fantastic, I never expected it to be that good/useful - ok I was playing around and purposely not pulling out to overtake a fair bit just to test it out, so normally with standard cruise control I'd anticipate and pull out to pretty must constantly maintain the set speed anyway.
Lane control OMG. I must've done 10miles on the M1 just very loosely holding the wheel. It kept me perfectly in the lane the whole time, I could've had a snooze...!!! It's a bit weird to get used to and to trust especially when there's the odd bit on the motorway when there is a reasonable bend in the road.
I found the lane warning very sensitive, I thought I was pretty central in the lane and it kept beeping saying I was getting close to the line, I've turned it down to low now.

My advise to any new owner is to actually sit in the car and read the manual playing with the controls as you go...

Like others, I really only use it on faster A/B roads or motorways, when we're allowed to actually go anywhere.

I use it at all times on all roads. It's not the best system, I always keep my hand touching the bottom of the wheel ready to intervene. Sometimes it works superbly, other times it ping pongs between the lines or will even allow the car to break the line.

The level 2 (same as the MG) autonomy in my DS3 Crossback was superb. It always stayed centred in the lane, it followed curves properly and the only time it ever became flummoxed was with zig zag lines outside of schools.

I learnt how to cheat the MG system on long motorway journeys, but even that is hit or miss. So now I use it as intended; keep a hand touching the wheel at all times and intervening when necessary.
The MG will follow the car ahead if there are no lane markings which is good, it will even follow the car ahead round parked cars etc.

I think that you mean MG pilot - and I agree. My post was around the lane departure prevention ?

The LDP doesn't stop me crossing a line sometimes and will also get extremely close to the line.

But it's driving itself, so surely I can read at the same time/have a snooze/do a sudoku puzzle etc lol
Remember seeing a video clip years ago, driver of a Winnebago setting the cruise control, then leaving the controls to fix a coffee in the kitchen... surprisingly, he spilled his coffee when it ran off the road ?‍♂️
