Led rear indicator and reverse lamps

I did a stupid thing and reversed into a post. Along with the bumper scrape, there is a chip out of the ridge on the light cluster. So I am now looking at Ali Express for a new rear light cluster. Strangely the listing quotes "Standard" and "Luxury" for the LED colour temperature. I would default to "Standard" for my car, but I thought it best to get any extra knowledge from you guys. By the way, the dealer quoted £312.09 for the left cluster, this advert is for a pair at half that price.

The standard refers to the SE which doesn't have the red zigzag on top and the Luxury refers to the Trophy which does. Looking at your profile you have a Trophy so I think you need the Luxury lights.

The colour isn't different though is it? On my Trophy the fancy LED pattern on the top appears to be the same red as the tail lights. I guess that it is just poor use of English to describe the difference.

What is the big deal here? if you keep the car for three years then also keep the stock bulbs and if it fails put them back in, use the free retest to get the pass and then replace the lights again. Some people like to make a mountain out of a molehill they really do.
An MOT test is for safety and headlights too bright are a danger to oncoming traffic, this is not going to be the issue with a reversing lamp.

Just changed mine and the instructions given by AdyC in the first post were excellent....so thank you very much!!!! Got my MG4 last week & couldn't believe how rubbish the reversing lights were...they barely illuminated my driveway and were made even worse by the brightness of the red lights at the rear. Took 10 minutes for the first one and five for the second so nice & quick job. My only additional tip would be to feed in a crumpled bit of kitchen roll into the gap below the bolts to catch them if they fall out of your socket during removal...saved me the hassle of retrieval with one of them 😀

My replacement LED reversing light bulbs bought off Amazon failed within a year, despite having one of the best star ratings. The replacement I tried next didn't fit because the diameter was too great to fit into the light cluster. I have now fitted these 1 x Strong Canbus Daylight Running DRL Reverse White LED 7440 W21W T20 582 which are exceptionally bright and from a seemingly reputable supplier.

Are they not led already? Not really paid attention

I know reversing it's a lot dimmer than all other cars I've had, I keep my foot on the brake just for more lights when parking up at home at night
