My car was in for the bulge bracket warranty correction. I asked if the new LKA software was in. The technician said yes there are a host of new routine for the sensors.

I can now state categorically that the new LKA has not tried to kill me. It beeps with the lines on the dash blinking (in the past I have not noticed this since usually I was in a cold sweat and did not look at the display). On the motorway there was a tug on the wheel once but it was very gentle.

I don't know how to check any software number for this but the technician did update some other staff.

Would you mind trying to check some?

Never use it. So I have no idea if it has improved or not. If there is a test you would like me to do let me know.

Unfortunately the in-car infotainment won't show any useful version. I'm betting it's either a BCM update or an FDR one.

To figure out which updates have been applied I can look by either VIN or country + date of service (or range of dates) + model year

Then my first conclusion is that you now have the more dampened version of LKA, similar to what others have experienced after a full R33 implementation.
The 69 number refers to the fcim mcu. Don't know if this the latest, but others will.

That MPU is the current latest for the SE, but your MCU is old ... mine is 69.3.8.0, and that was what it became after the 1100R33 update a year ago. Sounds like they haven't updated the Infotainment properly/fully?

Tbh sounds like mine after I updated, there's been no updates for a while
EPS 23/08/24
FVCM 09/08/24
CCU 20/07/24
BCM 13/06/24 I personally don't think this effects it but others think the BCM does everything
FDR 19/05/24

Let's start with the infotainment version.

That does not mean everything. But more details can be found later in the 'secret menu'.

FICM other than give a shortcut to turn it off has no effect on LKA

1 entertainment update via USB Vs lots of car behaviour updates via OBD like in the image below

When TJA is enabled, how much effort does it take to regain control of the steering wheel in order to correct its lane keeping? On mine it takes enough force to make it quite abrupt. On the Kia I occasionally drive it's a lot smoother and a small amount of resistance is sufficient to regain control of the steering.

I have said it in many forum chats. If you want good software buy Tesla. I will never rely on other cars software for now. As such I do not use TJA. The problem with LKA was/is that we cannot switch it off. If I could I would switch everything off.

MG4s are fantastic to drive. I was driving a £64k lexus electric car and MG4 was a much better drive. I test drove a tesla Y and MG4 is better. May be because these are bigger cars but tesla 3 (pre facelift) was also a loser to MG4. So my conclusions are MG4 is fantastic just let us switch everything off and stay off. I would not waste your time try to get a perfect drive out of the drive assistance software. the ACC is nice and auto hold is extremely useful.

Just enjoy your cars people.
