That’s pretty good for colder temp driving. It’s the average speed that will kill it if that pushes higher the M/KwHr soon dips. What set up did you use? E.g. Heating on auto? Pre-heat battery/cabin?Thought I'd share my 110 mile run to Heathrow and back today. Temperature was below 10 degrees. Averaged 3.8 miles per kWh. Happy with that. Car performed brilliantly.
Anyone else got some long run figures?
MG4 SE SR
The journey to Heathrow I had Radio on, AC/Heating on 20 degrees. On way back turned AC off and just had manual airflow with radio on. Mostly all motorway driving too. The battery intelligent heating was off (I've never turned it on tbh). The battery management said I only gained 1kw from regen on the whole journey. (I used 1 regen most of time)That’s pretty good for colder temp driving. It’s the average speed that will kill it if that pushes higher the M/KwHr soon dips. What set up did you use? E.g. What speed were you doing on the motorway, were you driving as normal (70) or slower? The journey to Heathrow I had Radio on, AC/Heating on 20 degrees. Varied really between 55 and 65mph. Traffic was congested but flowing. I didn't go past 70 at any point ?What speed were you doing on the motorway, were you driving as normal (70) or slower?
Really interesting and thank you for sharing it with us. I too am buying an SE SR so this was relevant.Varied really between 55 and 65mph. Traffic was congested but flowing. I didn't go past 70 at any point ?
They're like washing machines. They have a billion settings but you only use one!Really interesting and thank you for sharing it with us. I too am buying an SE SR so this was relevant.
I have read most of the threads and posts about the MG4 and although I am a retired engineer, I struggle to get my head around the wide range of settings for the car and it's systems such as battery conditioning.
So was happy to read that you have not yet used battery heating.
But I am sure that once I have driven it for a few weeks, these things will become more obvious.
High Speed is a killer for EV’s. I can’t get above 3m/kWh (on any EV that I have owned) in cold weather all motorway driving at 70ish mph.Varied really between 55 and 65mph. Traffic was congested but flowing. I didn't go past 70 at any point ?
I didn't buy an EV to toddle along slower than I used to drive my ICE car, I don't have a heavy right foot by any means but where circumstances permit I will be driving to the speed limits and just take the hit.High Speed is a killer for EV’s. I’ve got an SE SR and I have no idea how you managed that! ?Thought I'd share my 110 mile run to Heathrow and back today. Temperature was below 10 degrees. Averaged 3.8 miles per kWh. Happy with that. Car performed brilliantly.

That’s not bad at all. Now if the average speed was nearer 60mph I would be well impressed!Just got home from this journey. After 30 miles of A roads was sitting at 4 Mls/kWh but then did 75 miles down A1, A14 and M11 in really gusty windy conditions with mainly headwind. Didn't hang about either doing 70 most of the motorway/dual carriageway. ACC on 23 degrees and radio on.
Yes, I'm suddenly getting into the 4s. Happy with that.It seems the 4's are definitely getting better economy as the weather is warming. I got 4.5 miles per kwh today on a 30 mile round trip.
