Loss of power due to empty battery / uphill driving / acceleration / overtaking

@Gabor85

No, I come from Germany and had to tell the car dealership itself that there is an update. They wouldn't have contacted me on their own.

Today big tour Germany-France-Germany, just over 500km. Fuel consumption 8,1L/100km a lot of highway, partly 170km/h. A lot with ACC at 135km/h, the battery only emptied up to 2 bar, so that acceleration was still possible. At 135km/h with ACC the speed was 3200 rpm, briefly it went up to 4000rpm, but only briefly. The car always had reserves.

At 135km/h with ACC the consumption was 6.7L/100km

Hello the software updates is available since around mid december. It improves things clearly (as people reported on the french facebook group). But on highway you still may have issues.. So it doesn't completely resolve the issue but the loss of power comes ... later

PD030 and PD050 are the codes mentionned by some people
PD052 is the code

On the way home, I once again had to experience that the car in normal mode with ACC did not accelerate when overtaking. The battery was empty except for 2 bars and it no longer accelerated, and that was at 110 km/h. If something like that happens on a country road, it can quickly become dangerous. The combustion engine constantly wants to charge the battery instead of giving its full power to the drive wheels...
I had the update installed two weeks ago and this morning was the first time that I got to drive the car on a motorway .I was very surprised to find that the car performed really well and I was able to overtake without any loss of power.I had the ACC on and drove at 90km/h @ 2000rpm and at @ 100km/h @2100rpm. On another point one of the contributors here said he lost power when over taking in ACC.That is not recommended in any car.ACC needs to be deactivated when over taking.

Yeah but in a car with a good engineering, and enough power, even hybrid etc, ACC ON, any overtake should still not be a problem at all, especially for a car with 197bhp claimed on the specsheet ^^

Explain how if you have ACC set at 80km/h, how you can over take a vehicle that is going at 90 km/h. It has nothing to do BHP. You must disengage and hit the accelerator .Do you even know what you are talking about?

Hello
Let me share the little results of the poll I created on a MG3/ZS Hybrid group on Facebook :

Question : Since you have the MG ZS Hybrid+ what is your situation :

1) No performance issues so far, I am happy with my ZS : 69%
2) I have experienced some loss of power but it's been fixed with the update PD052 : 14%
3) I still have loss of power and high revs etc.. despite having updated with PD052 : 17%

I was told I had the PD052 update done. This is in Aberdeen, Scotland. I didn’t specifically ask for it and was told when I picked up that was the name of the software update I had gotten. But alas the car has been no better since. If anything it’s worse. I can't drive in a 70mph road without it revving constantly and irregularly and the battery draining almost as soon as I accelerate to those speeds.
Hi Bud
I'm from Aberdeen too, same issue sadly....
Mine overrevs but not just on 70 mph, little tiny incline too...
Worse decision ever to choose this car....

Hy, i have MG ZS Hybrid + from 11.2024. I two days ago i get PD52 update and now i can say that i see that my car on hill on motorway can go faster then 100km/h. Till the update on half of the hill (long hill on motorway in Croatia) car will lose power and barly make it to 100km/h. Now, after update i can go up to 115-120km/h. Jeeeeee!
