Making phone calls from car.

Hi all. My new MG4 ER Trophy. I can recieve calls on my iPhone or android and can hear crystal clear the caller BUT the callers only hear scrambled broken white noise crackle with very faint hint of my voice.
Any ideas .
In car microphone?

Are you connected via Bluetooth only, or via AA/CarPlay? (AA requires a wired connection and Bluetooth; CP only requires the wired connection, and turning off Bluetooth seems to actually help things).

BT connection & wired connection tried . Same outcome.

Does Hello MG for voice commands work in your car? (That might help identify if it is the car's microphone). What about Hey Google / Hey Siri?

Yes. Voice command seems to work. Not that it understands me all the time but that's normal in most cars. So yeh maybe not built in microphone. It's going in Friday to local dealer but I cannot fathom what it could be.
As its a work car it's essential I can use the phone.

So. Taken car to MG service and its the microphone apparently. There's 2. I for driver 1 for passenger and they said common fault, they've replaced several. So parts on order. Let's hope its resolved.

I've had exactly this issue. MG4 Trophy has been back into garage three times and been repeatedly told, software has been updated and it's now fixed - wrong. Today I actually spoke to the technician and he couldn't understand why I hadn't been told it needed a new microphone. Hopefully will get sorted now!

Mine was sorted. Took a few weeks to get the parts but 30min job to swap out the microphones and all works perfect now. Common issue apparently . Perrys Huddersfield West Yorkshire were very good and helpful.
