Map Updates

@Pigger1972

My understanding of this is that ALL recent MG models no longer use Naviextras for SatNav data, so I would be very cautious about trying to use the Naviextras Toolbox to update your maps.

My wife has one of the last Petrol MG3s to be released and hers does use Naviextras (though, because of the price of their updates, she always uses Apple or Google maps).

CUSTOMER SERVICES has ignored my latest request for an update on the software needed to update the maps on my ‘3’ Hybrid+ - no change there then! One interesting item I have come across, however, is that ‘modern’ MG’s are able to use “what3words” for the destination. Still got to try, bit there was the proviso that yet another software update may be needed - again no surprise.

It's what I was told to do by naviextras..come up with 7 year subscription too...only thing different was older version of toolbox..might change near future but this worked for me..

Naviextras is only for pre 2024 cars, the current versions of the MG3 and I expect other new cars will use a different map supplier. As previously mentioned, certainly for the MG3 Hybrid+, the software is not yet installed to allow for updates!
Well it recognised my head unit as mg3 2023 and that's on the mg3 hybrid it showed the device Id and the 7 year subscription info was there....there may be an update coming but this is how it works at mo...get in touch with naviextras if you want confirmation..
