MG i smart app

Since I had the car I have had a Security Alarm warning on the home screen. When I press on it it shows a map in Berlin , does the donut dance for about a muinute and shows a screen saying "Unable to Get The GPS Location". Refreshing makes no difference. I've logged off and on the app and it makes no difference.

Any ideas?
i get the same but leave it for a bit and usually comes good

Ok hotlush have to wait for them mg to update the ismart app or mgt in UK has any one found a way round it ?

If using the phone option ensure you're taking the leading zero off your phone number.
When trying to register my I-Smart account yesterday, I though I would try entering my mobile number first and give it a go !.
I dropped the first ZERO from my number and the entered the rest of number behind the +44 prefix already shown on the screen.
To my great surprise, a few seconds latter, I received a SMS message with a one time a verification code !.
You have to be a bit smart entering the code and then your chosen password etc, because you are working against a count down timer.
If you delay, you will be "Timed Out" and you have to start over again !.
Have details written down, together with your chosen password.
This needs to be entered twice.
I managed to get it all in and confirmed with about 6 seconds to spare.
It will then ask you if you what to "Bind" to the car NOW or LATER.
I choose LATTER, each time you open and then unlock the App, it will repeat the request.
When we collected our car today, I just "Paired" my phone to the car first ( via Blue Tooth ) then I scrolled through the setting's, until I found the "Bind" button at the bottom of the screen.
Hit the "Bind" button and have your phone ready to go.
When you hIt the "Bind" button, it will open a "I-Smart" window on the info screen of the car and will then display a large QR code, on the right hand side of the screen.
Point the camera of your phone at the QR code and it will capture it straight away.
Your phone will then open up the I-Smart control screen and your done.
You should now have a working App that connects with your car.
If you open the App and click on the "Vehicle Status" button ( just above the image of your car in the upper left corner ) it will open another screen and carry out a complete health check of the car on your phone.
It will run through a percentage scale from 0% to 100% and then load a fully list of information checked and there status shown in detail.

No not MG5.
ZS EV Trophy LR.
There is two slightly different set up’s for the I-Smart App for the ZS.
The SE and Trophy is a little different process than the Trophy I- Connect on the ZS.
In this video, it will take you through BOTH methods.

Ok thanks I have a mgt so prob need mg to update for UK for app any third party apps out there which could work

Do you know if it is possible to use the iSmart app on 2 different phones? My wife has installed the app on her phone and everything is fine. I want to be able to use my phone with the app but did not know if that would cause a problem for the app on my wife's phone. I seems that I cannot use the iSmart app unless I bind it to the car and there does not seem to be any way that I can log in with her details. Any insight would be appreciated.

Yes. Someone has done it on this forum, but I can't remember who or which thread.

Edit: Found it. Seye did it;

Only one phone can be logged in at once, but use the same account on both phones and you can switch between them. Invoking a new session terminates the other,
I have now sucessful got this operating the car on both my phone and my wifes phone, toggling between both
So it looks like the car is bound to the account, not the phone.

Here's the posts - can always ask the OP for tips:
I got my car on Thursday so have now been able to try this. It works!

Although I won’t have my car for several months, I thought I may as well try to register my details on the iSMART app. Following advice on here, I went for the email registration first, and the code came through immediately. Then I started with the phone one. I probably tried about 30 times over a 2 day period, with the same message ‘code successfully sent’, but, no code arrived. Watching TV this evening, and idly pressing the send button every few minutes, and hey presto - my code came through on sms. It does say, incidentally, that you have 10 minutes to enter the code after receiving the sms, so it doesn’t appear that the minute countdown is relevant. I didn’t wait though - wasn’t going to chance it!

I must have been really lucky or just picked the right time to do mine !.
It went straight through via SMS message !.
Nice having an App now.
Our previous ZS EV did not have one of course and although the car before that SHOULD have had an App - it never worked.

Yes mine took some time to get now registered but being a mg5 owner waiting on my to put mg5 on it have asked in the ismart app twice when happen but nothing back do any one know who else to ask about it

Command 28 -open window on drive side
29 open window on passenger side
30, 31 same starting with close.
In all there are 96 commands.
I tried commanding the side windows to operate on the Trophy Connect that we had a test drive in a number of weeks back.
It would not respond ?.
Maybe a Trophy Connect owner can verify or not ?.
Thanks !.
