I'm probably barking up the wrong tree, but here goes.
I have a 70 reg ZS EV and I've just found the ismart app.
Will this work on my car or is it only for newer versions.

Sorry - NO !.
The original ZS EV is not equipped with the necessary equipment to communicate with an external server and then the App.
You are not the first person to ask this question ??‍♂️.
In Thailand the original ZS EV does have the ability to use the App but not here !.
Only the new ZS EV face lift model, has a working App.

Hello I have a 2022 ZS EV from Thailand, here in Bermuda, with no success using the app. Any advice?

Hello I have a 2022 ZS EV from Thailand, here in Bermuda, with no success using the app.
The Mark 1 ZS EV with the charge port behind the large MG logo can't use iSmart in any location other than Thailand. For any MG model to use iSmart at all, MG in that country has to set up servers and make a deal with one or more cellular communications companies. I have no idea if Bermuda has that yet or not. Maybe the market is too small to justify it.

If later model MGs in Bermuda have iSmart working, then you will likely need a different sim card in the Tbox unit. Even then, there is no guarantee that the servers will support your ZS Mark 1. I doubt that MG dealers will be helpful getting this going, unfortunately. You will be pioneering on your own. At a wild guess, you have about a 50% chance of getting that working, if the MG iSmart servers are willing.

If the above fails and you really want iSmart-like facilities, about your only option is to install OVMS. There is good support for the ZS Mark 1 on OVMS, and there are threads on its use; use the search button top right of every page. These threads are now a bit dated, as iSmart has basically taken over, but there is a wealth of information there. Note that it may not be plug and play, you may have more success if you are technically inclined.

Good luck!
