MG Motors alarm Message

I received the following message from MG motors

from +46 7190002980348 13/07/23 15:10
The brake system of your vehicle (***063) has triggered an alarm on 13-07-2023 14:10:31 GMT – MG Motor

My ZS EV Trophy was not in my posession at the time but in a non-franchise garage having minor rear bumper repair (arranged by my insurer Direct Line).
Can anyone suggest what may have caused the alarm as I am obviously concerned that the garage has mishandled my vehicle and may have caused damage.

I’ve only ever had vehicle start notifications. So to me it sounds like something untoward has happened. I would suggest you speak to a MG dealership to see if they can help with the alarm report.

I had a similar warning flash up on my phone, when the car was in for its annual service at the MG dealer.
The car detected an intrusion while the car was powered up.
It could be something as simple as having the drivers window down, then the car auto locks.
Then the drivers door is opened ( from the inside via the open window ) and the alarm is triggered etc.
The car reports this as an intrusion and sets off the alarm and reports back via the App !.

I have a new model MG3 HYBRID and just received the same message. Did you ever discover what it meant? I'm guessing it's a spurious warning, as it may have been caused by me manoeuvring my car into the garage, and braking quite suddenly as I was doing so.

I got it at my second service where the garage changed he brake fluid. So it was expected.

where was your car when you got the message? what does it say exactly?

I did enquire with MG, and they provided some vague response that it was seemingly nothing to worry about.

I get emails on my phone too when I've done something!!! & the alarm goes off. The last instance was when I locked the car, but the passenger door wasn't shut properly & the door mirrors didn't fold in & the alarm went off when I tried to unlock it.
I got one about an airbag warning when I plugged in a OBDll reader, I've tried it with two different readers with no luck, one that worked perfectly with my Gen 1 ZS EV but not this Gen 2 ZS EV Trophy SR model.

Got this scanner in 2019 from Amazon, it works perfectly with my ZS mk2
