MG Paint Colours

I've always wondered where the inspiration came for the modern MG colour palette.

My Mum said her Dad had an Austin in BRG (the old colour, solid green). I know Austin and MG were not related.

This was later reinvented in the 80s by ARG who brought out their metallic take on the old colour.

So, I'm wondering if MG have done the same, by reinventing heritage colours.

I saw a 1930s car in an episode of Poirot today, painted in a hue very similar to Holborn Blue.

Also, I'm trying to work out the differences in the 2024 colours compared to the 2023 ones.

Camden Grey, Volcano Orange and Black Pearl remain the same. Sterling Silver has been added.

2023's Arctic White has given way to Dover White.
2023's Holborn Blue has changed to Brixton Blue.
And 2023's Dynamic Red morphs into Diamond Red.

They change the names depending on where the cars are being sold. Looking on MG's UK website the colours are still Arctic White, Holborn Blue and Dynamic Red etc.

On the French website they are Dover White, Brighton Blue, Diamond Red, Pebble Black, Medal Silver, Fizzy Orange and Andes Grey.

I don’t believe yellow is sold in any country ( I could be wrong ) ?

I quite like it though & think it would work especially well on the X Power models

Not keen on the Fizzy Orange, sort of dilutes the car, specially if it's an X Power.
Much prefer VOLCANO Orange suits it better. ???

Lava would be a better name for the orange variant.

Nah, sticking to Volcano Orange, particularly suits the X Power, can be quite calm, but liable to erupt at any second. ??
