MG ZS EV Connected but not charging

I know this post is a little old, but I have had a similar problem and I have been trying to work out how common it is. See my issue with my MG4 in the following thread:

I don’t know if anyone else has encountered this problem. Went to Sainsbury’s and tried to make use of their free charging, using a podpoint charging station. Plugged it in, and booked in with the app, but the car said “connected but not charging”. I unplugged, replugged, turned the car on and off, tried a different charging station but just got the same message. I am waiting for a response from the mg garage but wondered if anyone else has had this issue? It charges ok at home on the 3 point pin connection. The lead I have is as follows, and worked before when I charged it away from home on a long journey.

Euro Series Charging Cable Type 2 to Type 2 x1
Item Number AMC003(5M)BGR
I've had a similar thing where the charger was plugged in but the blue light didn't change. the app said connected but not charging. any ideas?

Did you lock your car? That locks the charging cable in place too. On my ZS EV the blue lights only come on when the car is locked.

Could be that your cable isn’t quite making a connection properly and activating the lock. You should be able to sit in the car and lock the doors using the door switch, if your firmware is up to date. Try cleaning your connector cable points and try again. I had this similar problem but it was deffo the charge point, as other times it would connect ok. Shame though now, as Sainsbury no longer have the charging points in Beckton (London)…
