MG ZS EV Newbie Questions

Hi everyone, this is a very useful MG user forum! Thank you.

I've had my ZS EV for less than a week and have a couple of questions...

The car won't charge on my 7kw charger unless it's locked - am I right in thinking this can be solved with a battery software update?

The car has a pedestrian alert system failure which it's going in for next week - anyone else had problems with this?

I've noticed my phone's Bluetooth stays connected to the car when it's locked and charging, even when I'm in the house. Anybody know why?

Got a warning on the dashboard - Pedestrian Alert System Failure - Consult Vehicle Handbook. The system is audible but in the infotainment menu I can't toggle the on/off switch - it's greyed out.

Garage had a quick look and cleared the fault but it came back straight away so booked in next week for a proper go.

Hello. How do you like your new ZS?
The charging while unlocked on AC is a module that needs to be selected by the dealer during an update - some have it and some don‘t. Mine won’t charge on AC unlocked but it doesn’t really bother me.
The pedestrian alert error has been reported on a couple of posts but i’m not sure what the cure is. I suspect another software amendment. I guess this is the warning noise when travelling at low speed.
Bluetooth connection - I don’t know I’m afraid. My phone disconnects (i think) when i move away and lock the car, but I’m not that close to the car so I may be wrong.

Pedestrian alert is probably something to do with the radar or the camera, I'd clean both and see if that cures it.

That is pretty shocking that a car less than a week old has not got the updates from about a year ago.
Unless, is it not new but a 2nd hand purchase?

For the charging unlocked you need the EVCC module updated, this is a yonks old update and should have been done pre delivery.

Do a quick search on the forum (top right of screen) and you will find the answer to many mysteries the ZS EV holds.

You could check that the cable isn’t loose on the PAS (AKA the speaker under the bonnet)

Updated - the problem has now been resolved. A bent pin on a connector block in the pedestrian alert system was causing a short which also drained the 12v battery dead! Fixed a week ago at MG Sheffield and all seems good now. ?
