MG ZS EV Rear light did not work

Hi, I got my MG ZS EV LR Trophy One month ago from Bristol. I love it !
Last weekend( rainy day) we travelled to Bristol at night and on the way back several cars stopped and flashed from behind. Initially, i thought everyone had gone mad
Finally, someone stopped and said i have no Rear lights at all. I stopped the car and no rear light ( no red lights ( not break lights) nor number plate lights)
I was so upset. however, i stopped the car , switched off and Switched on the car couple of times and the lights appear to be working after that.

I didnt have that issue ( well only drove at night couple of time after that) again .

Also worth noting that next day (one-off) when i start the car , car LCD/LED display did not start , was black.
Again that was one off.

Everything seems to be behaving now. Im worried, Any similar experiences Or heard a similar story?

This is quite worrying and especially the break lights wasn't the MG5 recalled as brake lights did not come on with regen?

I’m not sure this as anything to do with Regen N2STY as none of the rear lights where working plus this is a ZS not an MG5 anyhow.

Cenasf, when the rear lights where out do you know if the front side lights where working or not ? as they are all on the same circuit.

Sorry I didn't make myself clear just no brake lights is a massive safety problem I understand the ops problem no rear lights at all including number plate lights
If they had to do a recall for the 5 with no lights on regen this is worse?

Thank for reply , break lights were working as well as side lights on front.
As I said issue went away after stop and start, however bit worrying as car was only 4 weeks old , less than 500 milies

That then sounds like maybe a loose connection in the rear wiring harness you should get your dealer to investigate as it could happen again.

It may be an earthing issue but that wouldn't explain why it would start working after a reset.

I have also seen plenty of people driving on there DRL's at night

Was the light switch set on AUTO ?
Also, if you accidentally (or on purpose) twist the light switch stalk clockwise it turns the lights off.
If you turn it anti-clockwise two clicks it puts the headlights on overriding AUTO.

Did you have your headlights on?

OK here is the verdict so far , I called the dealer and he said exactly same thing as above , I probably have switched off auto , its possible and plausible. I'm gonna keep an eye and update here if anything happen again.

Dealer informed me of happen again go to any deal and book this as its under warranty.

I hope above is the case and I won't be run over by a big truck from back .. ??

There should be a lights on "tell tale" light on the dash, plus my dash dims when the headlights are on ??

I would suspect the rear lights on a separate circuit as they come on with remote heating independently of the headlights ?
