Ordered a long range on December 30th. Estimated delivery at the end of March. Waiting is the order of the day
Thanks for that information however is that for orders placed now or for all historical orders?I got Feedback today from MG Germany and my local Dealer, that ALL MG Models have delivery times of round about 6 months from now on.
That also can be seen on the Homepage, in the car configurator it says "24 weeks".
My Dealer was not able to say that unfortunately. Thanks for that information however is that for orders placed now or for all historical orders?
Yes that's correct. But MG told me, the delay is because of Chip shortage and other Delivery issues. So i think this will apply for both LHD and RHD.LHD and RHD markets could easily have different lead times even off the same factory line.
The most recent mgevs podcast mentioned a shipment of 11,000 mg cars into UK in February, but I think Miles said that ~5,000 would be mg5 EVs with a smaller number of mg zs EVs.My dealer has informed me that MG intend to ship almost 11,000 cars into the UK by sometime in March 2022.
However, about only 600 of these cars are pure EV's I have been told by a man in the know !.
Sorry, I forgotten to include the MG5 numbers. The most recent mgevs podcast mentioned a shipment of 11,000 mg cars into UK in February, but I think Miles said that ~5,000 would be mg5 EVs with a smaller number of mg zs EVs.
The chip issues are across the board though it's possible different markets may get may get differential treatment depending on where demand is greatest. Delivery appears to be in the lap of the gods and which ship goes where. UK market is large so can easily fill a single ship.My Dealer was not able to say that unfortunately.

Good news. Which ZS?lucky. Picking up my ZS on Saturday. With a delivery time of 6 months, I probably wouldn't have chosen it.
I think almost every manufacturer is looking at these timelines now, unless they had stock in the showroom (which virtually nobody did), everywhere we went, Hyundai, Kia, Opel, Renault, Dacia were quoting 4-8 month lead times :-(.......... Saw this quote :I think almost every manufacturer is looking at these timelines now, unless they had stock in the showroom (which virtually nobody did), everywhere we went, Hyundai, Kia, Opel, Renault, Dacia were quoting 4-8 month lead times :-(
I guess the semiconductor shortage is far from over.
Yep, I've seen 2024 mentioned before we get back to normality.Saw this quote :
One chipmaker told the Wall Street Journal backlogs were now so big, it would take up to 40 weeks to fulfil any order a carmaker put in today.
!!! seemingly they say it could be 2 years before supply catchup :-(
