This is very interesting...It does show that MG really have to ramp up production if they're to deliver on their ZS orders before we're all bone & dust...also seems a bit bleak for Connect versions ?.
I look forward to seeing what the (hopeful) increase was for Q3. It's a shame they do quarterly - we'll be a good way into 2023 before we get a look at 2022 as a whole. It's impossible for us to know every instance where batches may have been supplied outside of normal process...at the end of the day, those cars are transported and registered - I don't see that there's a better data source.

Very quick update, After screenshotting this post I commented “what about cars order 4 months ago” and literally 10 minutes later had a call saying mine is at sea should be at the dealers early October

So my brothers dealer says that any new MG EV’s will come through quicker as they don’t have the sun roof. Potentially before existing orders for the car with sun roof. Apparently it’s the parts for the sun roof causing the delay.

So if I recall the excuses timeline right..... first it was chips causing the delay (especially for connect models), then it was shanghai lockdowns, then it was the battery causing the delay for Long Range, now suddenly its the sunroof, im sorry but i call bulls**t on that, really feels like MG are just picking a random part or situation out of the air and using it as an excuse.
There are going to be some VERY unhappy people if cars without sunroofs that were ordered in July start arriving before cars ordered in 2021!!!

It does match up with how they can now offer shorter lead times and also why they’ve subsequently removed the sunroof. Although that could also be for any number of reasons. In all fairness by brother had ordered through Vanarama back in November, so if he gets it he will have been waiting over a year. I have a feeling if people aren’t attached to the sunroof then the shorter lead time could mean that some cancel and reorder.
I actually think it might have been the dealer you ordered through as my brother lives next to Exeter.

Had a phone call with my dealer earlier and there is no news with regards the delivery of my car. He did say that MG are saying MG ZS EV delivery for new orders is advised to be 30 weeks. I laughed and said it is almost worth cancelling my order and placing a new order which I would get quicker if Motability would allow - but they will not because MG ZS EV is no longer on the scheme. He did mention that he read something about cars without sunroofs going to be available quicker because there are delivery problems with some of the sunroof parts.
He is not sure at this moment how we would get the car delivered because at the end of this month his dealership has had the franchise removed and from next month the MG dealer for the Isle of Wight is Premier which I understand is part of the Greenhous group. Said that they were still trying to sort out where new cars will be delivered from 1st September as they will no longer be able to take delivery of new cars directly from MG UK.
It is a shame because my dealer history goes back a long way with Morris / leyland / Austin / MG etc and now the apparently the showroom is too small to be able to fit the required number of cars so bye bye to the old and hello to the big group.
Another interesting comment is that he has received some HS models and they have a chip short that enables the DAB radio. Apparently it is a requirement in Europe that a car must have a DAB radio so they have been supplied an antenna that sticks on the windscreen and there is a loose wire hanging down which has to be plugged into a usb socket. This is a temporary fix until the chips are available to plug in.
I was wondering if this was some sort of tracker linking to the SOS button ?

I think that the MG4 is on pre-order and am I right in saying that you can't order an existing model MG5?
