Finally picking mine up in the morning ordered November 11th 21

Just placed an order for a white ZS LR with New Car Discounts quoting delivery in around 3 weeks time.
The car was apparently ordered 10 months ago.
Does anyone have experience of how reliable New Car Discounts delivery estimates are?

Yes and still waiting,phone call from Chorley group this morning don't come in your cars not ready will phone you back when it is,guess what no call not even answering the phone finely just got an email it'll be ready at 2,very poor service Chorley group the biggest punch in the face there no longer giving us the price on our car even though they promised to after down valueing it at the start not a happy customer

Well, just had a look at my emails and have had one from MG Coventry, telling me my car will be with them early November..going to ring me this afternoon..

I’ll believe its here, when I can go up to the dealership and put my hand on the flap (maybe that’s a bit to much porn, for some) bonnet then..roll on November..

they are going to ring me this afternoon, have a feeling the trade in on the Mercedes is going to change, already been told the %has gone up..hope to get the car mats (free) and the MG bear…not really bother about that…let’s see what’s, whats, when they ring me this afternoon..week 40 will be 4th November..

The fact that someone at MG China couldn’t even tell you that your car was clearly on a ship heading this way inspires confidence.

It was never going to work.

MG UK are the contact point in this country. Not SAIC in China.

It would be like emailing Foxxcon in Taiwan asking why they haven't delivered your iPad.

Or on the flip side, maybe it did work and that’s why a car that’s arrived in/or was in the country has now been allocated to the order. We will never know. It wouldn’t be the first time that someone’s skipped the middleman and contacted someone higher up and got results.

Yes, unless you try, you will never know…think I posted a few days ago, that Id messaged dealership at BC to be told, was still showing as on shortage? Now all of a sudden it’s here…I guess it’s at Bristol as told with dealer early November? As others have said, it’s about two weeks from port to dealership..your guess is as good as mine..I do wonder if emailing the head of whatever she was in China, did do something, guess I’ll never know..

I don't think a car ships from China in the time the complaint has been made. The last contact was a bat back I believe...

If I wasn’t happy with what MG UK had told me, (which was nothing I didn’t know) why should I leave it at that..well I didn’t, MG China, could have just knocked me back to MG UK or my dealership..she didn’t, was asked what country I was from and my dealership (why would she ask me that, if she was just going to sit on the info, I’d given her?) this was only about 10 days ago and out of the blue, my car turns up? Coincidence?..maybe..and yes, if I had been sitting about for 10 months waiting for my laptop and getting nowhere with whoever it was..yes I would try and find someone as high as I could and ask them about my iPad..what have I got to lose..this isn’t the first time I have done this, I find the higher you go up, the more something will get done…and I will carry on doing so because it works for me..

I think you you have a very optimistic view of the process which surprises me given what we know about the last few months ?

The reason for saying MG UK is the contact point is that they are the official importer of MG in the UK. Nobody else.

Yes you can email SAIC in China if you want, but you were essentially knocking on the factory door.

If you think it made a difference, great, IMO it didn't, otherwise why wouldn't they take the opportunity to tell you that, given the effort they put in to get you to the front of the queue?

Now I’ve just had a phone call from Tim (MD MG Unity) which was very interesting as he said, he’d been in talks with MG UK (he understood I’d been in contact with them as well) no Tim, MG China, most of the day and they seemed to have pulled a car out of the air for me, meeting up on Friday to sort paperwork out, he did say the car was at sea, I could get it for the end of October, but is saying November to be on the safe side…(I put my hand on my heart and swear on my girls life I’m not making the above up) so I would say, the email to the nice woman in China seems to have done something imo…

Glad it worked out for you! I'd have held off sharing that until the keys were in my hand...or at least just PM'd it. I can imagine many of the emails sent will likely be less than eloquent (if the correspondence shared here is any indicator), and there'a always one that ruins it for all. Let's see what happens.

If nothing else hopefully your dealer got a kick in the proverbial to stay on their toes when it comes to customers.
