I was told in early December my status was awaiting “Manufactures country” and my dealer estimates February for my car. Did your dealer happen to mention when boat is due to arrive in port? I guess it is just wish thinking my car could be on the same boat ?
My wife's was waiting for shipment "on future shipment" from China at the end of November according to MG themselves, whereas at the same time, mine didn't even show as built and was an earlier order by a week - but both are now showing as due at the same time, the dealership has confirmed that. Both were showing as "shortage awaiting build" in September.
Last email from MG themselves was at the end of November:
"The first order status for
30000800xx is ‘shortage’, unfortunately, we cannot provide an ETA until production is confirmed. The second order status for
30000820xx is ‘on future shipment’ and the ETA is beginning-mid February 2023.
Your dealership will be in touch in due course to provide more information and make further arrangements in relation to your vehicle handover. For your information, the dealership can view MG customers' order status on the ordering system as they have access to the system."
Apparently the dealership can view the status, but we were shown they only have 3 status indicators that were roughly "in origin country" "on sea" and then "destination country" so nothing about build slot etc, but they definitely did see TBA for a while.
I would assume it'd be end of Jan or beginning of Feb for the ship to land, we're quite local to Portbury (Gloucestershire) so they might have a closer delivery timeframe to dealership than some due to them only being 25miles from the port?
I don't think the dealers even know which ships are due but just get estimated dates?
