True, although if it really does arrive in Sept/Oct then I would take less of a hit selling the stopgap as I wouldn’t be adding that many more miles. Any losses would anyway be balanced by the circa £400 I’m saving on fuel & the same again for scrapping my current about-to-expire chariot.

Mrs FatboyFat was making googly eyes at the Corsa when I nipped home on the test drive (to get final Financial Director approval ?) so we may end up flogging her Mini & going full ‘lectric

We did similar but got a MG5 SR, although we’re going to keep it when the ZS LR arrives and be a fully electric car household as it’s so much easier and def cheaper to run than an ICE.

Did they indicate roughly when it was due to arrive. I think someone posted there was a ship due to dock on the 12th July?

Moving on from yesterdays meeting, as it was a nice sunny day, the Porsche had to come out for a ride around, where to go? I know Balsall common dealership, where I ordered the car from, let’s see if they can give me anymore detail?…not really, was told MG dealerships have had a big meeting with MG about wait times etc?..as when they sold a car to you, they were told by MG about a 4 month wait, till the 4 month came as there was still no car, then it turned into another 4 months, was also told China was still in lockdown? Not sure about that, but don’t shoot the messager, was told the way the cars are built was are in a batch, so on Monday they build MG5s..Tuesday HS, Wednesday MG 3…Thursday ZS EV, now what I was told was if they didn’t have the chips for the ZS, they would build something else in it place and the ZS EV would have to wait till the next Thursday, if no chips for it, no cars built, till next Thursday and so on..also told 5 stages to car builds, shortage, build, ship, dock, transport,…my car was showing shortage and TBA…he gave me his card and said I could ring him maybe once a month for an update…don’t know if this helps…

Next ships in with potential MGs aboard:

• Adriatic Highway - due 25th June
• Cape Town Highway - due 30th June
• Galveston Highway - due 11th July
• Viking Adventure - due 27th July - she hasn't stopped in Shanghai yet (and may not!) - but this is a usual MG delivery vessel, so one to keep an eye on over the next week to see where she goes after her visit to Japan.

What about existing orders that haven't been built yet. I'm concerned I'll lose the sunroof on the Trophy I ordered....assume it will be ok though. Never know with a lease order I guess especially MG

Don’t worry as long as your car was ordered before 1st July 2022 you will get your sun roof miles confirmed this on the mg EV podcast , which you can what anytime .

I was short of an email and had a look in my junk folder this afternoon. Found two responses from MG UK that I sent last week. An extract from one email was: -

‘For MG orders that were placed in January the estimated lead time would be 8 months, but subject to change, which could be even sooner once the production has commenced.’

Can see that LR cars are starting to arrive so hearing the above in mind a January order should be arriving in the next 8 weeks.

Just seen the podcast. No more sunroofs for the ZS - not even an option. Only two models - SE or Trophy.
Used values of ZS trophy’s with sunroofs should hold their value better.
I wonder what delivery timescales will be offered when the order book reopens? 1 year ?

There not being sneaky…just don’t know what the hell is going on and no one seems to know what the hell there doing..the thing that bothers me now is, if I hadn’t gone up there today, would I ever had know the order was showing deposit returned? Which sort of gives me the impression that no-one has there finger on the pulse, no-one is looking though the order folders, is this why I have never gotten a phone call or message? As I’ve said, there’s only one salesman on site now, not sure if the branch manager has gone, as he wasn’t there today? The salesman seemed more interested in selling cars (well he is a salesman, clue is in the name) when I was there, there was a couple wanting to buy a white car that was up for sale..is this why it’s taken so long, no one is bothering to chase MG up over the cars customers are waiting for?…may pop over to the Balsall common dealership (which is where I ordered it, in the first place) to see if they can tell me anything else?..

Checked in with Balsall common got a tale about Audi buying washing machines to strip the semi conductors out, no news on my red LR TC still TBA

Just called my dealer yesterday and he told me my car ordered in February has TBA on. He goes to tell me many orders from November and December are still waiting for deliveries. He said the earliest I can get my car is now looking at 2023! I'm seriously now looking at alternatives... Probably a Kia EV which they are quoting 4 months..... But probably 8k more in comparison... ?
I can't see my car coming any time soon as I ordered Trophy Connect and none of these are coming through....

Tunbridge Wells MG have only had one long range and one standard range arrive so far apparently…

You should be hearing something very soon. Suggest you send email to MG UK and ask the specific question - when will my car arrive ? Also get your dealer to chase area manager.

Splendid Ace, is due on the date you put so my money is on that. It is due Jeddah day after tomorrow I think.

Dealer will hold car till Sept then register I've done it before.
