MG ZS EV unlocked all night?

Hi. I have a 2022 ZS EV Trophy Connect Long Range.
I’ve awoken this morning to find it unlocked!

I thought it auto locked after a short period?

I’m shocked.

The car will lock if you lock it or remain unlocked if you don't lock it. The only auto lock is if the car is locked, you press a button on the remote to unlock it, but don't open a door, it will autolock after a short period.

Thanks. So what must I have done to find it unlocked in the morning?

Not locked it when I got out of it?
Accidentally opened it with the key and left it open?

If you accidently unlocked it and didn't realise the fact then after about 30 to 40 seconds it will relock. You must have forgotten to lock it, you can check it on the app and then lock it from there.

If you unlock the car, but do not enter the car, it will re lock the car automatically.
If you unlock the car and then open the driver door, you will have to relock the car yourself.
Once the door has been opened, it cancels out the auto re lock function, until the car is relocated and it resets itself.
Hope that makes sense ?.
So, I imagine that is what you have done.
Unlocked the car and entered it, closed the door and forgot to blip the fob.
That is why it was still unlocked the following day.
Been there, done that !.
Check the App before you retire for the day, it will tell you the locking status.
If you remember to do so of course ?.

Toyota's, VAG, Ford, Mercs, Vauxhall's and Beemers I've driven or been in all work this way. Can't speak for Citroen's, my AX didn't have central locking!

I can also add Volvo and Peugeot to your list. Only auto lock if you haven’t opened a door.

My Renault Kadjar locked once you closed the door and walked away without pressing any buttons

My Zoe auto locks if you shut the door and walk off. It does a double "blip" to let you know.

I’ve seen in another forum that some Hyundai and Vauxhalls do too.

The bottom line is, if it's not in the spec don't expect it.
