I experienced a stone chip a couple of days ago. I called for a repair the same day. The repair is scheduled for tomorrow, but the chip has now developed into a crack of about 30cm (12 inches) long. Hence, I will need a windscreen replacement. Just wondering if anyone has had a windscreen replacement on the MG ZS EV, as I would welcome any comments on the experience, good or not so good. I'll be doing this through the insurance company, which means it will be National Windscreens who will do the work.

I think there's some work to be done with the camera setup near the rear view mirror, but never had to have this done myself.

Not had one done but I remember someone commented on having the front camera reconfigured afterwards. The glass company will be aware I’m sure.

Yes I had mine done. Autoglass did mine but couldn't do the ADAS calibration. Had to book it in at Toomey's Basildon ☹️. They hadn't done one before and said there is only one piece of equipment capable of doing it in the whole country, and they would ring me when they got it.
Rang them back after not hearing from them after a fortnight, and they didn't know who I was, so went through the whole story about there being only one in the Country and they assured me they have booked it
and would let me know when they have it. Autoglass had rang me to see if I had it done, I explained what they said and they asked for permission to speak to them as they thought Toomey's were talking nonsense. Autoglass got back in touch said they were told the same nonsense. Over the next 10 weeks or so and several phone calls and one visit (where I found them quite rude and unhelpful) I just got the same story. I then gave Roy Tolley MG at Colchester a ring, whereupon they said no problem when would you like it done sir? Next Friday I said, and so they did.
They had to have it for the day but supplied me with a free courtesy car. Autoglass and others at the time couldn't do the ADAS as MG hadn't released the software.
So hopefully Toomey's are not your dealer and it will be done quickly.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) provide drivers with active safety support features. Autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, lane keeping assistance etc.

Thank you for all your comments. I appreciate it. I'll update the post with the outcome of this repair.

Update so far....they do not have a windscreen in stock for the MG ZS EV and so it has to be ordered. It looks like it might possibly be Tuesday 4th May (Monday is a public holiday) when I can have the windscreen replaced. I will have to take the car to a local depot for the replacement and the ADAS calibration setup.

I hope it goes well for you. As for these Toomey characters, its frankly unbelievable that a dealer will just make up b****hit and lie like that. They deserve to be shamed!

Update so far....windscreen is expected to arrive on Monday 10th May. I have an appointment for the windscreen to be replaced on Wednesday 12th May, but the windscreen replacement company do not have the software to perform the ADAS calibration for an MG ZS EV. I have therefore arranged for the calibration to be done at MG Chorley Group on Tuesday 18th May.
The guy I dealt with at National Windscreens today was excellent as it got a bit messy with how the calibration will be paid. He sent me an email, to confirm that they will pay for the calibration. I forwarded the email to MG Chorley Group and this was accepted by them. MG Chorley Group handled all this very well also, and I was pleased with the outcome.
Fingers crossed this goes to plan.

My windscreewas replaced on Wednesday 12th May as per the plan and I have to say that the guy from National Windscreens (Phil) was great. Just a point of note that the new replacement windscreen is an actual SAIC windscreen.
I'll be taking the car to Chorley Group MG on Tuesday 18th May for the ADAS calibration.
