I used a WiFi dongle bought from ebay for £15, it connects every time using Android Auto, I prefer Google maps, I can also play music from my phone.

And I expect, make and receive hands free phone calls, and just say a stored destination. I bought my CarPlay one, from Aliexpress for £12.95 P&P free.
