MG ZS missing V2L function

V2L not working. This is a pretty long thread now, and I have read it through carefully. Posting in case there are others in the same situation. We have just bought a newly-registered ZS (74) but we now know that the motor was made in May 23 and the date of manufacture was 06/07/23. The number on our motor is the same as those mentioned above where V2L does not work. We have purchased one adaptor with 470 ohms and one with 1980 (approx) and neither work. So we plan to approach our Dealer and let him know we have a problem, which needs fixing. If MG will not honour the V2L then the dealer will have to replace it, as we were mis-sold the car. We told the salesman on several occasions that V2L was important to us for camping. We have had the car one week. Will update on progress in case there are still car owners with a similar problem.

Some 2023 models didn't work but it has to be fixed under warranty. Sooner you ask for it to be fixed, the better.

In early threads on this subject with cars that arrived without the V2L function available, was traced to the incorrect part number of modules fitted at the factory.
I will include what appeared to be the problem below, this was taken from a earlier thread on the subject.
“If you are unable discharge via the V2L then a quick part number check, is really worth while.
Cars arriving with EVCC modules part numbered :- 11408732.
Then these appear to be the non-functioning / incorrect modules.
The part number of the EVCC that dealers appear to be replacing them with are :- 11505199”.
The module is secured to the N/S chassis rail below the 12 volt battery.

Yes, thanks we're compiling a list. The latest is that Android Auto is not working even though my device recognised the car. If the car is actually nearly 2 years old I am guessing software will be out of date. Build date was July 23 but sold to us as new.

not the software problem. once you connect Bluetooth to the car, that's for music and phone calls only. You need USB-A cable (you will need to try 4-5 different ones until you get one that works) to connect your phone to the car for AA (right-hand side USB port). Alternative is £12 or so AA wireless dongle from AliExpress - I'm using one, works perfectly fine on my 2022 ZS ...

Hi, my zs ev long range came without VtoL when buying I said to the salesman I wanted it.
2022 all had vto load
2023 some had vto load
2024 all had vto load
Bought it at MG Leeds
They fitted it before I picked it up and charged to to warranty
Just done 7000 mi and no problems, best car I have ever had.

Hi all, I have a Portuguese ZS EV Long Range (Lux) bought 03/2024. Car is great for us and we are largely very pleased with it. I haven't yet bought a V2L cable but want the system to work. Buying the cable with a potentially non-working system seems a bit problematic. The dealer doesn't understand / know and no response yet from MG/PT. I have enclosed a photo of my EVCC - it does not correspond with any of the previous posts as far as I can see. Does any one know if this one is known to work (or to cause problems) with V2L? EVCC is a 11349836 from 230206. Thanks all!

I don't know about EVCC but if I were you, I would get a cheap V2L coverter (in the UK they are about £15 on eBay) to try. Maybe something cheap from AliExpress or Temu ?

This one is faulty see my photo. 11408732. Date is 23/05/23. So yours is 3 months older than ours and not same code number. We bought two adapters online (as cable is unnecessary) first one not correct, as it must be 2000 ohms resistance. Our dealer didn't own one to test the car.

I bought this adaptor on Amazon: VOBOR Adapter V2L voor EV (€32 ish). It works so this EVCC 11349836 from 230206 seems to belong to the working ones for V2L.

I also bought this cable from a German supplier. It has 2 x 220 volt socket and 2 x USB port (USB A and C). €90 incl postage.
