Mg ZS Pilot Errors

Hi there - as I am going through these threads I realize this also occurs on my car - bought just 2 months ago or so. As such I'm wondering if patch 2.6.23 as stated above is the thing that confirmed to fix this. I hate to take the car to my dealer just to tinker around plus it is a 2hr drive there and back - one comment it did appear that when I changed driving mode it seems to clear these sometimes - so like going from normal through to ECO for instance - I don't know if that was coincidence or what but thought I'd add that info here.

There is no ‘fix’.

As has been said previously it’s a combination of MG putting the cameras in places that attract dirt easily without anyway to actively clean them. Combine that with the software’s patchy ability to deal with information coming from the cameras and you the current situation.

The hardware isn’t changing, and MG can be very slow to fix the software, so this isn’t getting fixed soon, if ever.

An update to my post of May 2023. I put my MG ZS EV in for service to have the ACC system unavailable, etc fault fixed. Penrith MG did a firmware update which did resolve the issue occurring every time I coasted down a hill, but the dreaded ACC system unavailable, etc issue still occurred occasionally. So into Penrith MG again to try and get the issue fixed. The service reported stated as follows, “tested and found invalid data codes in FDR and FVCM. Removed and replaced R7 relay as per TSB. Road test and all ok.” I have no idea what the acronyms relate to, nor what a R7 relay is, but after several months now, I have not had the dreaded ACC system unavailable, etc error message.

My guess is; Forward (or Front) Detection Radar, and Forward (or Front) Vehicle Collision Monitor(ing).

Any other guesses? :)

Glad you got it sorted in the end though.

R7 is likely to be the location in the fuse box where the relay lives.
If it has been replaced, it’s likely to have proved failed.
Without the switching relay, the system is effectively dead.
TSB - Will likely mean technical service bulletin.
