MG3 Hybrid+ Trophy
Hi I bought my MG3 Hybrid Trophy in September 2024. Recently I have major issues with the car,
1. Clunking sound when I accelerate or de- accelerate.
2. A loud popping sound from the speakers when the car is shutting down.
3. Speed warning telling me to do 80mph in a 30 or 40 mph zone and 40mph on the motorway ???.
4. Engine warning light on the dash for a fault with the Hybrid system.
It has been in the dealership for a month now and between MG Technical team and the dealership they have no idea about these faults. The MG Technical team have so far suggested changing the gearbox oil and taking the wheels of the car with no results. Any advice please as I'm thinking of handing the car back to the dealership under "unfit for purpose" as its only four months old.

So sorry to hear all these issues , what they also don't tell you is when the battery is down or on recharge the performance is reduced so your never quite sure how the power is delivered at any time , irritating & so
stick to a Turbo !!.

If they sort out the ICE/BATTERY balance & upgrade interior eg : split rear seat & rear passenger lighting it be a good economic buy , maybe with some cosmetic improvements especially from the side view ..

Whilst the car itself is OK, apart from the antics of the engine/gearbox when going uphill(!), and the odd occasional glitch with the electronics such as the temp going to LO occasionally when you get in the car, in terms of value for money it can't be beaten.
BUT the absolutely crummy approach by MG to aftersales service is the let down! It's clear if MG don't legally have to put their hand in their pocket to build customer satisfaction, then they won't!!
Years ago selling bargain basement new car's to customers who could only look at budget or second hand buys, garbage customer service was less significant. Now trying to move mainstream that approach will come back to bite them!
Oh and I've had to touch in a stone chip!!!!! Of course only joking you can't blame the car for thar, just our lousy motorways...

Hi,don't trust Mg team,,they don't have a qualifications for hybrid cars,I have new mg 3 hybrid plus and I ask mg team to put me Igla alarm system, and they told me this alarm system can not be installed in this car,,,Then I asked one ordinary service for the car and they told me,there is not problem for installation,,,And can you imagine if there is problem with software, what I think that your car have. So for me it is best to return to dealership,,,because your car have a lot problems...Regards Milan
