So I have been told by Newcastle Hunter MG, that all MG3 Hybrids are being recalled to have a software change. I am told this will take about 1.5 hours. The change relates to integrating the car to the iSmart App. I am booked in this coming week for the recall work, and will report back here after. I did previously try to get iSmart to work but it failed, so I didn't worry to much about it. Has anyone had the recall completed,

What is I smart app please, and what does it do?
It connects your smartphone with your car, allowing you to check the status of the car, tyres, fuel, range, battery voltage, temperature, etc. It allows you to lock and unlock the car remotely, and turn the A/C on or off etc. It also shows the exact location of your car. It's a useful tool.

I checked the Australian Recall Database and there is no listing for this recall. I suspect this is just an MG feature,/enhancement installation and ir has nothing to do with genuine safety type recalls. Thus it should probably be seen as optional. I cancelled my booking to have it installed, as the claimed features delivered by a phone app have no appeal to me, and the car functions fine without this app interface.
