MG4 – ESSEX SERVICING

Interesting, when I emailed prior about software etc, seemed it was all largely ignored.

I still have a high pitched noise coming from the rear spoiler over 40mph, as well as still on R59.

It could have been however R59 was the latest "stable" when I went in November vs now they have 63. I did read other threads people said R63 was recalled due to it messing with the battery max charge.

I did ask them if they could also swap the weather proofing which I had been sent from the dealer but they wanted £78 to do it.. so I will just do it myself.

I would like to "second" Perkins. I bought my car from them (unfortunalty they lost the dealership) and have had it serviced by them since getting it. They are a small knolwedgable garage who take pride in what they do. Thankfully they have retained the right to service MGs.

Finally, they checked the rear sub-frame lower guard as I noticed it is beginning to show signs of the typical warping, and they agreed and would order in the support bar fix and repair under warranty.

A bit of a late update now, but the lower guard has only been deteriorating very slowly; however, as we are due to set off on a biannual long drive to SW France again in April, I called Perkins to take up their offer to fit the corrective support bar - apparently a 15 minute while-you-wait job, but you have to get there at 8:30 for this. All sorted this morning, as agreed - the only issue being their wish to make a futher software upgrade at the same time to the software "to reduce the LKA impact" - which took another hour! All helpful, once again

Rather as anticipated; I've read similar coments elsewhere. Was this recent by any chance? And where do you go now?

Really late reply but haven’t needed to go for a service since until my next service which is soon. Going to go back there just because it’s so much closer. I have used one in Ruislip near Heathrow for other with though which seemed good. They did rip by plastic off though grrrrr
