MG4 51kWh: Radio dead, lane keeping issues, starting problems

Hi friends,

First time user, be gentle! New MG 4, happy with it as I am a pensioner and I can charge it from solar. Even with overcast skies I can get 1.4kW and that supplies the charger.
Dealer wanted me to come in for the first free service ASAP, but as the suggested 1,500km have not been achieved yet, I am waiting until then with a collection of possible problems:

1 Radio dead, hope it is a single temp issue and will go away,
2 LKA: Seems to work between two white lines OK, but is not too good if the LH side is a grey stone and footpath,
3 LKA is a pest as it has to be switched OFF every time. Wouldn't it be a great idea to be able to set up personal profiles or at least one profile, which sticks?
4 Another user also reported restarting problems after parking and needing to drive off again. Switching back to D or R and getting out of P worked eventually,
5 No front sensors in the MG4 51 as the cheapest model, I suppose the dearer ones have it,
6 Reads speed signs but then loses the number despite driving in a straight line - I know it is just trying to assist,
7 The MG iSmart app may have problems with remotely stopping the charging, had to try twice before it worked.

Sorry to hear about the issues.

I had a few of the same issues once or twice. Generally locking the car and restarting resolved the issues.

I wonder if you need a software update that might reduce most of these issues.

Great that you've got enough solar to run the car though!

Hi I have a 51kw in NSW I would bet the radio is ok I had to touch the screen to bring it back to life after having phone connected,
And the LKA on my car is same as VW and different cars I have driven u get ok with it after 10k lol .
My car only gets solar 99% of the time and don’t forget 51kw battery can be charged to 100% all the time.

I have had an issue with the infotainment screen going completely blank twice now in 12 months,, it lights up again sometime afterwards or when stopping and restarting. doesnt affect the drive, just whatever you control on the main screen, eg the aircon!

I just posted about this in another thread, but this exact thing happened to me last night for the first time, and again this morning. Really strange.

Yes strange! Glad in a way its not just my car then. Also have had a few non starting episodes ad commented on too, annoying but had always started again. A few other strange incidents too, such as tyre pressure warnings going silly. Has always reset itself but alarming these things happen!
