I have been frankly a little addicted to setting up little modifications, upgrading software versions and tweaks which will help me in my day to day and are functional!

As this forum has been so great and many suggests via it. I have complied a list to help those new or existing owners add a little extra to their vehicles. Most of these are from AliExpress so if these links do go down let me know and I will try link a suitable counterpart!

Each item is broken down into its cost, how difficult it was to do/install, its functionality and delivery windows. As well as the links to save you a google search! Comments are under spoilers for easy scrolling and to only read what is appropriate to you.

Hydraulic Frunk Upgrade (In black)
Cost: Reasonable (£20 at time of purchase)
Difficulty: Easy/Medium
Function: 10/10
Delivery time: 7 days

Fairly simple to install, took me probably 5-10 minutes most of which was making sure I was doing it right, you'll need a little pry tool and some strength to remove the gap fillers of which these replace.

Mudguards
Cost: Cheap
Difficulty: Medium
Function: 10/10

Delivery time: 7 days

Installed yesterday on a dry day. Took me a few minutes to figure out which one was which (they only fit one way) then started with drivers side wheel. I turned wheels away so get some more space to work with. You will need to be down on the floor to get to the screws, typically 3 and with one on the underside. I would recommend a rachet socket with a philips to get in there and tighten up.

Took me about 10 minutes for the whole car, they seem to stop a lot of the splash back in these winter days where there is a lot of water on the road. Quality is ok and they match the black plastic trims.

I spoke with my insurance about these, they couldn't find anything on system which requires notice which is great, your mileage may vary so worth checking!

Sill Protector Stickers
Cost
: Very Cheap
Difficulty
: Medium/Fiddly
Function
: 8/10
Delivery time: 7 days

These are a little tricker, I wanted the MG logo ones but the seller supposedly didn't send the ones I asked for so minus some points for that. They work fairly well and are a bit tricky to install and get in parallel. I would make sure you clean up the space you're sticking too first, then slowly work along the top edge so its as flush as possible. I did get a boot one too but this sticks out a little bit so may replace.

They are decent quality and should hold up and protect your paint in your door gaps.

Key Fob Case
Cost: Cheap
Difficulty: Easy
Function: 10/10

Delivery time: 7 days
Link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006901275675.html
Easy to install just squeeze in a go. Decent quality and hopefully protect the stickers on the original keys.

Rubber Door Inserts
Cost: Reasonable
Difficulty: Easy
Function: 9/10

Delivery time: 7 days
Link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005209599093.html
Easy to install. I some how got an extra one and I am not sure if this allows the Qi charging but for the front and back doors, as well as the gaps it works nicely.

Central Armrest Storage Box
Cost: Reasonable
Difficulty: Easy
Function: 10/10

Delivery time: 7 days
Link: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007219318190.html
This should be stock. Seems like the factory missed a beat and it adds a perfect little area under the armrest for storage.

Internal light upgrade
Cost: Reasonable
Difficulty
: Medium/Fiddly
Function
: 10/10
Delivery time: 1 day
Link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071LNH2D3
These are so much brighter and better than the originals. The MG4 is dingy without upgrading. One issue to point out these lights are "thicker" than the initial inserts, I ended up removing the SoS/Light area to plug back in the light socket as it pushed into the plastic when fitting. This is done by two screws in the sunglasses holder then you slowly pry the two sides and pull towards the windshield and it pops out. I fitted both in this way and pre-watched this chaps guide;

CarMats Superior Floor Mats+ Boot Mat
Cost
: Expensive
Difficulty
: Medium/Fiddly
Function
: 10/10
Delivery time: 6 days for boot, 10 days for custom car mats.

Boot: https://carmats.co.uk/products/mg-motors-uk-mg4-trophy-ev-2022-boot-mat
I went with the Superior in black with Carpet Heel pad. The originals I had seemed to poorly fit as well as missing drivers side "locking" mechanism. The new mats are very good quality and make the car look a lot better. Boot mat is great too and allows me to put things in there without worrying about scuffing up the fabrics.

I would recommend investing in some good quality mats if not already. Specially when winter is fully here.

Windshield sun shade
Cost
: Reasonable
Difficulty
: Medium/Fiddly
Function
: Awaiting summer!
Delivery time:7 days

A bit fiddly and unsure of its practice user yet until summer rolls around. Seems decent enough quality and storing in the back passenger pocket.

Feel free to add any recommendations to this thread. I will try keep the OP up to date as I add or change things.

I did look at the MG4 Badge/Fangs, but decided against them for now. I have a 3d Printer and I also printed the phone tray guard but not yet put it through its paces. It would be nice (or perhaps I will need to do is) is 3D Scan some parts such as the badge and make my own, cheaper version with PETG/ABS.

Pending delivery and review (so I remember!)

I bought a Vgate iCar Pro 2S odb2 dongle recently and it is pretty good for a cheap option and works with Car Scanner, ABRP etc. Cheap enough to buy even if not sure if you will make a lot of use of it.

Only thing is that you need an OBD2 cable with a switch if you want to avoid the alarm going off when you leave the car. I have been searching the forum looking for the post where someone showed the one they had that worked well.

I agree strongly with the recommendation of carmats.co.uk. they are not the cheapest but the product and service is great.

Your link has text in it, it needs to be a URL (proper internet address).
I think that's it fixed. There are other sellers on Amazon and AliExpress some on the latter may be cheaper as their deals vary. I was nervous buying from AliExpress but in this case it worked out fine and cheap enough to make an unnecessary experiment low risk. So far my inner geek is enjoying the data but it is not an essential purchase.

What do you use this for boss?

With ABRP (A Better Route Planner) it allows ABRP to understand better your battery conditions, SoC, etc. and so give more realistic routing and charging stops on a longer journey. With the Car Scanner app it lets you see more details about your battery pack, true SoC, SoH etc.

Interesting, so basically cuts though the UI MG offers as "user friendly" and compiles the true data to give a more accurate representation for use in these apps?

Perhaps will be on my list for next month!

Only issue with this the MG4 has a stupid OBD port under a panel!

This is a succinct summary of the main benefits. I am just trying things out. I am on the trial period of Premium ABRP and like the way it forecasts how your battery will last on a journey based on route, weather, and data from the car including miles/kWh at different speeds. It's good to be able to review your battery use after a trip and see how efficient you were. On the other hand I am a little more comfortable with Google Maps as a SatNav and in an ideal world would be able to use the data in Google Maps like is happening with some cars based on AAOS.

Car Scanner is good too and worth paying a few pound for a lifetime subscription to support it.

The OBD2 dongle may prove to be a novel toy in the long term (or a useful tool) but I don't mind as I like it and it will be useful to check how my battery ages. The reality is that battery aging is much less of an issue for the vast majority of people than journalists seem to think.

Received mine yesterday - tried it today. Worked right away - no struggles. :)

Has anyone bought the original winter mats? I'm tempted because I don't want to risk getting ones that smell like plastic.

Anyone found shades for the front windows? Getting into the car at 12 pm in the summer when the sun shines sideways means the vinyl is scorching hot
MgTitan sells some sort of shade, but it looks like they’re ment to be driven like that, which I’m sure is illegal if tinting the front windows is illegal in your country. They don’t seem to cover the entire window which then sort of defeats the purpose when parked.

It's Stra'ven TYVM ;)
Yeah sometimes Strath'en, sometimes Stra'ven for me.😁 Did think Srath'en might provoke a response.🤣 Probably say Stra'ven mostly. Mostly? Doesn't come up that often. Think I've been there twice, stopping only for the chippy, on the the way home from Rugby Park or Somerset Park.
