MG4 Trophy ER
I plan to get rims and new tires for the winter. My rims are 18" Trophy version. I might switch to 17" winter ones.
I know that the dimensions of the tires are: 235/45/18 and 215/50/17.
The point is that the diameter of these two dimensions is different. An 18" tire has a larger diameter than a 17" tire.
For a 17" tire to be the same diameter as an 18", the tire would need to be 215-55-17.
I know what the factory dimensions are and that's not a problem, but I know that the speedometer will show about ~6km (4ml) less with the factory 17" dimension.

Question is, has anyone tried putting 215-55-17 tires on the MG4? Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like? Thanks in advance to everyone who answers.

Do not know the reason why it isn't 55. But you will not be caught speeding with 50!

I assume the dealer can easily adjust the parameters to show the correct speed if you use either two. My dealer switched to the smaller tires when vibration complaints on ER's remained.

What tires dimension do you use now?

He did this for others. Not me. But he switched to the original 17 inch Mg rims with mostly 17 inch bridgestones standard tires.
