Hi everyone,

I’m absolutely loving my MG4 every day, but I’ve run into a small issue. The base board in the boot (the one that covers the hidden storage space below) has broken – maybe it’s my fault as perhaps I have overloaded it?

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, do you know how much it costs to replace? I’ve asked my local MG garage, but they’ve been useless at getting back to me with a price.

Any info would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Neil

Not sure how handy you are Neil, but I would make one from plywood and cover it with a rubber boot mat.
One you can get from carmats.co.uk - You can cut it to size and stick it on the wood with a suitable adhesive - or just lay the rubber mat over the plywood to hide it.

Plywood would probably be much better than the original. The MG boot covers are very flimsy - low cost I suppose.

...unbelievable! Simply don't deserve to stay in business.
Yes plywood would be a great material, and thin self adhesive carpet like matting (the likes of what is used when doing a campervan conversion) is easy to buy and would make a professional finish. The sizing isn't that critical either, as long as not too large obviously.
