Hello all, I have been following this forum since Oct 22 (bought my MG4 SE SR) and you all have been immensely helpful.

This is the first post I am publishing here as I haven't been able to find answers to the issues I have been experiencing.

My 3 months/4K miles old MG4 has developed a very faint buzzing/rattle from the driver side. It seems to be coming from the top of the dashboard/inside of the air vent perhaps? I have tried pressing all the panels in the door and nothing seems to looking or feeling odd.

FYI, I had already fixed the passenger under glove rattle hence, its not coming from there.

I’ll try attaching video for your reference.

Addition: Video is now attached below…

Any help on this will be very helpful.

Thanks
Hi, I have the same almost imperceptible buzz coming from the dashboard, or somewhere there. It's always present even without potholes. How did you manage to fix it?

Another thing I’ve noticed that rattles a lot is the cupholder. The little pieces that compress when you place a cup or a bottle in there are quite hard plastic and they rattle like mad if you have certain sized cups or bottles in there that are either plastic or metal.

I was getting a rattle on the driver side when driving on chip (small stone) seal roads here in New Zealand. It is a common method of road surfacing here. Once back on a smooth surface, it went away. I was sufficiently motivated to hunt it down last week, and found that pushing on the speaker cover near the windscreen stopped it.

Thanks to others on this forum I was able to pop the speaker and found a piece of black cloth on the inside edge did the trick. It was a long strip with half under the speaker cover and half in the visible crack - hence the black cloth to minimise any reflection in the windscreen.
