MG4 - First UK dealer hands on photos and specifications

Hi Leo, good questions above which I can’t answer, but the one about the snow mode I two was also wondering about that and I shall guess that it changes the drive gearing some how, a-bit like setting off in 2nd gear in a manual gearbox but I’m probably totally wrong.
How the carpets these days in yours all been good I trust.

And as nutnut above has pointed out maybe an answered is in the podcast from Friday which I two have got to watch tonight been a very busy weekend for me with family

Hi Les
Thanks for enquiring
Carpet has been good, there was another issue with center console trim having scratches. All replaced promptly under warranty. I have thoroughly enjoyed my ZS MK1. No problems whatsoever with the drive. Raked up several miles. Now time to upgrade to larger battery for commute needs.

Would that possibly disengage the traction control, etc..?

Hi Gomev the Been playing around with the App you told me about A couple of weeks back,AmiGO, and yes thank you,it’s very good especially the cameras side of it but the compass in it is always pointing in the wrong direction I:e south when I know I’m travelling north and try as I may I can’t get it to work with the CarPlay in my MG5 I have an IPhone 13 pretty new it is am I doing something wrong google maps works ok with CarPlay but no of.
Also do you know or does anyone reading this know if CarPlay can be use without a cable I:e wirelessly. I have never use CarPlay before trying this app out.
Les
Hi @Les burrows on the app on the phone, you can toggle by touching the compass (just above the speed indication), can't remember what it looks like on the infotainment screen when using Auto Android/carplay. AA/Carplay can be wireless but car needs to allow it. In the 5 you need to cable connect for these unless you buy an adapter/dongle thingy such as AAWireless that I have for Android or the iOS equivalent that I have no idea about but found this....

No, it doesn't have a rear wiper
Hi Miles

Re the MG4, does it have a heated front windscreen? I can certainly see a physical button, below the Infotainment screen.

I have just read an article in a well known car magazine, who have driven the MG 4 and they gave it a very good review. They did however, point out one peculiarity that they had discovered:

"the apparent inability to turn the car off should you wish to do that and remain in it, perhaps for a nap. Powering it down requires you to get out and lock it. But when you get in again, a seat sensor turns the screens and air-con fan, back on. Hmm."

Interesting Post above by Johnathan, above,
Can I ask in which Magazine you read this please,in the only thing along this line as I know of is there is apparently no stop/start button fitted to the MG4 you just get in the car with the keys and it powers up so yeh very interesting question.
Les.

No heated windscreen. You can turn the heating on prior to getting into the vehicle. That depends probably on the trim level.
With regards to your second comment, VW has the same, and quite a few others, and there’s no problems..

Yeh that’s correct about the screen the button you can see is a demist/Defrost button which puts the HVAC on full to the screen.
All models come with I-Smart fitted so you can warm or cool the car from your mobile phone .

MG Motor 4 EV review | Autocar

Sounding promising and looking good in the pics. (Apart from the mis-attached boot side seat cloth...)

Note you have to register to read the whole article.
I agree, looking in through the back, the seats look a bit like a kit car! I hope it doesn’t fall apart after 6 months.

That patent expired in 2011. The reason all cars don't have it now is accountants.
The latest idea is to fit heated seats to both the front and rear as standard, then charge a £15 monthly subscription to active the rear’s if each owner wants them.
Another money making racket !.

I think BMW have made indicators a subscription item too, judging by how little they get used.

Yeah your right there !.
I think they have followed down the same road as the “White Van” team, who have all ticked the “Indicator Delete” box on the order form for their vans !.
A few months ago, my wife had indicated to enter a roundabout in her Fiat 500 and made a minor correction to the steering wheel, it then cancelled the indicator.
She reapplied the indicator almost straight away.
A police car was following her around the roundabout.
She then switched her indicator to show she was leaving at the next exit.
He followed her and then pulled her over.
Thought he was being funny and said :-
“You are like my misses, give us a clue love”.
She explained that the indicator was very sensitive and it cancels itself at the slightest correction to the steering wheel.
He sent her on here way !.
Really !.
Of course, there is nothing else going on in the world that needs less attention right now.

Yep, it was on the original e-up but then they were desperate to get the range up.
Omitting the heated seats may save you about 5 miles in the range if you are lucky !.
They pull there juice from the 12 volt battery, then the HV battery replaces the small amount of range into the 12 volt.
Pure cost cutting measure by VW ?.

One of the reason if and when she gets has the MG4 she wants the cloth seating they don’t need any heating I don’t think and they are cooler at this time of year more than once this summer I have almost called at A&E for some burns cream I can tell you.
You park up its dull and when you come back it almost 40 degrees in side the car and forget about tints it’s from the windscreen at times I bought one of those foil Reflectors to put in the windscreen had fitted at home one day and my next door neighbour said have you fitted a solar panel to the car then cheeky I said.
