Hi

I'm having some issues with the head unit in my MG4 Trophey long-range.

1) The widgets on the side overlap like they are being squashed. The only way I can "fix" is to turn AA into 720p mode, which looks like garbage
2) Satnav/Voice assistant come through the media volume within Android meaning I either have to have music on 100% to hear it or I cant set voice instructions. I have the voice option to 100% but it doesn't make a difference.

Both of these issues are 100% head unit/ Car issues I have had multiple phones over the last 6 months that have been clean installs and driven multiple cars with no issue.

Things I have tried

1) Factory reset of Head unit
2) Multiple phones including "flashings & Cheap)
3) Multi flavours of android to see if its a particular OS

Does anyone else have this issue?

What Infotainment version are you on - Rxx (R63 is the latest for UK Trophy)

I have checked the updates and it says I'm on the latest version, I had it topped up by the dealer Febish Last year.
Sorry but that's a non-answer and tells us virtually nothing ... dealers are renowned for espousing that cars are on the latest software, even when they're 4 or 5 generations old. And there are no OTA updates available, so the car will always say that.

Please tell us specifically what your car's Infotainment software revision is.

Ahh no idea OTA updates diddnt work make sense to have something that pointless.

Current Version for infotainment is : SWI68-29958-1300R30
Telecoms: SNAKP18E32

Your dealer is a bare-faced liar ... that's a very old revision. Software history for your model is:

1300R30
1300R33
1300R46
1300R59
1300R63 (Latest)
No surprised ive just called them now and they have booked me in for an update FOC as its covered inder the warranty. Now I know what I'm looking for I will know if they have done it.

TBF all the issues I've had with the car have been software related so fingers crossed this fixed the issue.

I don't know if they're intending to update the Telecoms too, but the update to Snakp23e32 I had done in April certainly fixed some very annoying issues. I don't know if that is still the latest though.

In a similar vain, my AA was working well until my mg4 was serviced yesterday. The car's software was updated (the outside temp wasn't showing on display).

AA didn't work anymore, the dealer started by telling me the cable needs replacing, then my phone is too old or the software is not compatible with the mg update, and sent me on my way....

My phone's software was up to date, AA was the latest version, I cleared the cache and force stopped AA, then restarted it. Also rebooted the phone.

In the end, via Playstore, I uninstalled AA then reinstalled it, worked straight away.
