All the more reason to install a good 32 amp EVSE. The cost of these is a bit ridiculous though. I researched them a fair bit before deciding and prices seem to vary between $780 & $2,500 with average around $1,200 & the most expensive $12,000. You can get a no brand one on Ebay for about $450. If you have the Essence 77, you can install an 11kW EVSE if you have 3 phase supply.
Installation can set you back anything from $500 to $1000 though.
I installed a CJBeny EVSE cost $585 but it has a better 3 year warranty than most of the others at more than double the price. Tesla rebrand these.
I use the iSmart app to set the timer for off peak & just plug in when the battery gets below 20% & set to charge to 80% unless going on a trip. The car will charge at 6.6kW right up to 80% after which it slows to equalise. If set to charge to 100% it slows after 80% to a granny trickle close to 100% and then equalises.
