MG4 internet, data limits

There is dual level 4G data system, in that front end notifications (which require no login either way) will just be sent - you may have seen these at the top of a mountain / in the middle of the ocean on a ship - they just appear out of nowhere. Why would you need connectivity on the MG4, as it has no over the air updates.

The feed I'm referring to is the one that supplies internet connectivity to the hotspot, sat nav live traffic data, weather and Amazon Music.

It's a built in multi operator SIM with limited capacity, approx 5GB/month for 5 years.

Heard so many conflicting views on this, not least from MG. Where have you got this figure from?

I emailed mg as i had the same issue apparently it’s 1gb and resets 1st of every month which is the case as I’ve kept an eye on it when it stops then into a new month it’s up and running
Personally I connect my phone to it via hotspot which this happens works the same.

It's just so weird. I've had 'no network' issues since I bought the car. Even this morning, when I tried to set up iSmart again it said no network. I went out again this afternoon and spent some time flitting about in the menus, didn't change anything, but I noticed I had weather info so tried the final iSmart bind step and it worked. Surely their coding couldn't be so inept that you actually have to view random menus to enable something???

No? What about the issue with the screen that can only be fixed by changing the DAB radio station?

Ah, I wasn't aware of that one. I don't use radio in the car.
I'm just a bit happier now that the thing actually has connectivity - let's see how long it lasts...
