Trophy, Camden grey
Trophy, Camden grey
I was nearly at the 16 week Mark when I cancelled as with the "Planned" system downtime for the next 2 weeks it just pushed me too far for my anxiety to handle.Anyone waited longer than 5 months?

I’ve been offered three orange ones in that time.I was nearly at the 16 week Mark when I cancelled as with the "Planned" system downtime for the next 2 weeks it just pushed me too far for my anxiety to handle.
Finger crossed for you though as some people are getting them sooner some longer ??
Mine was the Trophy Volcano Orange
We are now on 4 months. Starting to lose patience a bit as we were promised January and March now looks likely.Anyone waited longer than 5 months?

You're in the same boat as me (pun intended). Ordered end of September and now expecting delivery middle of March. According to my dealer MG say they have built my car and the last update was it's on the ship with an expected docking date of 28th February. We are now on 4 months. TJ whatever you do don't change it to your new car?@TJWhiteStar I think you need to update your profile ... you're not driving an MG4 now?![]()
True my bad lol@TJWhiteStar I think you need to update your profile ... you're not driving an MG4 now?![]()
It's ridiculous isn't it how some places had so many they couldn't get rid of them but other places had absolutely zeroI’ve been offered three orange ones in that time.
MG‘s ordering system is pants. It's ridiculous isn't it how some places had so many they couldn't get rid of them but other places had absolutely zero
Very true. I posted before that I was surprised that there wasn't a dealer network where they could offload cars to each other. When I ordered my white SE SR 4 weeks ago (16 weeks lead time), I could have had it in black from stock. I guarantee there is someone in the UK looking for black that was offered white from stock. Not sure if anyone has actually started a thread but maybe we could all share info on what we have all been offered "from stock" from the dealers we all use. It's ridiculous isn't it how some places had so many they couldn't get rid of them but other places had absolutely zero
My understanding is that doesn't happen with any marque.Surely it wouldn't be that difficult for MG to allow dealers access to UK stock reports, that way they could get in touch with each other and there could be some mutual exchanges that benefit them all.
Too true. Some years ago when I bought a new Astra, it was sourced from another dealer thought Network Q.Surely it wouldn't be that difficult for MG to allow dealers access to UK stock reports, that way they could get in touch with each other and there could be some mutual exchanges that benefit them all.
The old dealer networks were based on commission sales so everyone kinda benefited. It's more about the manufacturer driving the numbers rather than the dealer. I live in Cambridgeshire so even if a car was sourced from Scotland, I would still use my local dealer for servicing and after sales. Then when it came time to change, you already have the relationship with the local dealer. My understanding is that doesn't happen with any marque.
If you think about it from a business point of view it could destroy their business, as you could say I want an orange trophy they go we can get you one in 4months or Derek's down the road has one on the next ship, customer heads off to Derek's, they're now hoping that Derek's has someone who wants a colour they've got in stock.
I get what your saying but was meaning more of I've got a white one nobody wants, Derek has an orange customer wants an orange. Phone Derek he says he's been stuck with the orange and will take the white instead, all done without giving the customer that info of course. My understanding is that doesn't happen with any marque.

I know big chains like Arnold Clark, stoneacre and such do interbranch sales, say branch A has a car they can sell it at branch BI get what your saying but was meaning more of I've got a white one nobody wants, Derek has an orange customer wants an orange. I definitely got my Arteon along those lines,
The SE LR seems to be the least shipped to the UK, not sure if that's representative of manufactured numbers or just those allocated to the UKOrdered end of August. Camden Grey SE LR. Last update was for delivery in February, but not holding my breath :-(
