Mg4 Luxury İphone 15 Pro Carplay not working

Hello,

I just joined you, I bought MG4 Luxury. I couldn't get Carplay to work on my iPhone 15 Pro phone, I tried a few cables but it didn't work. Can you support me on this issue?

Welcome, @brocky! I haven't a clue, as I have the SE trim and use Android Auto, but I'm sure someone will be along in a minute who can help.

I'll ask the obvious question ... you're using the left hand USB A port in the car, yes?

I am using carplay which connects wireless to the phone. The unit simply plugs into the left hand side USB which is powered.

Yes, I bought a new USB to USB-C (Because the iPhone 15 Pro has a USB C port) cable and tried it but I couldn't run Carplay.

The Carplay unit needs a type A connector. Sounds like you are connecting phone directly.

I am sending the cable photo, I used a cable like this.

Should work, but maybe the cable you bought is power only

I have found that MG cars can be picky about cables when it comes to carplay. If the cable is too cheap/low quality it just will not work - possibly the USB implementation on the car's side is not robust enough to handle too much interference on the line. My wife had that problem in her HS. Do you have an original Apple cable to try?

Others have sworn by Anker cables - no personal experience though as Android Auto works just fine in my car with my Moto G8 Plus and the original cable.

I use an Anker cable myself and it works perfectly, however it only does on one side for some reason (it is an old cable I bought long before this car). If I put the wrong side in I need to flip it before carplay will show. Easily solved with a pen/sticker to mark which side is which though.
