I have received my mats. The rear and passenger mats are good but the drivers is not good. The shape is wrong and it does not sit at the correct angle. ”Pulling” the clip holes into place is not going to work, nowhere near! I am dealing with Dan via email and I’ll advise here if I get a satisfactory resolution.
Ok, I think that's enough examples to give them a miss. Shame, I guess we'll go for the overpriced dealer mats.

Given its only the drivers mat that seems to be giving most issues then Dan should consider automatic replacement of said mat if anyone raises a problem that fettling can't fix. Perhaps a revisit to the original template and a greater comparison to an official MG mat would get a good idea. Good for his business reputation and reviews on this forum. I have mine but no car to fit them to so I might be ????? down the line before discovering an issue.

Send this to Dan

Got mine delivered and they look and feel great. However I don't have my car yet to try them in and my confidence is low/zero given the reviews on the MG4 forum, especially as the cars floor clips cannot be repositioned.

Is there a return process for these mats or will you give me an assurance that if I encounter any problem with the fit of the front mats when the car is delivered that they will be replaced with no quams?

Regards, Alan

Fitted mine to my new car today and they fit ok in mine.
A little close to the side on the driver's side but generally ok and no need to change anything.
Either the clips must be all over the place when they were fitted to the cars at the factory or each mat is slightly different which I would doubt.

Perhaps some are unlucky to have a double whammy..slight off on the car fitting and, judging by some photos posted on this forum , some qc issues on some mats?

I believe the carmats.co.uk guy said they are machine cut, so unless some were not aligned properly on the machine, it is unlikely they vary, more likely the MG clips are not in the right place.

Dan got back to me to reassure me that should there be any issues, when I get the car, with the mats (car clip issue asides) just to let him know.

Collected my Orange Trophy yesterday, loving it so far, more on that and pics later ?.

This meant I could unite my car and the mats I received earlier in the week.
The passenger side and rear mats are all an OK fit.
Unfortunately, the drivers side is not so good, so thought I would share some photos to show the fit and for measurements.

As you can see when clipped in the mat is pushed well over toward the door sill this is worse toward the pedal box end.
I have used a set of long nose pliers to push the fixings across as far as the mats will allow and so these aren't a good enough fit
Maybe this is why the standard mats are slightly narrower, to allow for the variation, as referred to in @webmonkeyash post #152 MG4 Mats Availability
If I unclip the mats they fit slightly better, and in that position would be OK. as below

So some photos of the various measurements of the clip positions and mat fitment positions:

My Rubber mats are the same as yours. Drivers mat needed to be more central.

Also got mats from carmats. I got the "grand" version (second tier). The quality appears good and the heel pad I paid extra for is a good size. The driver's mat fits, but does seem to come out of one of the clips quite easily of its own accord. I might be missing something in terms of "screwing" it in.
Overall, happy.

Only the top part of the clip should move to lock it in.

I have exactly the same issue with the drivers mat, the fit is off in identical way to yours, carmats.co.uk are trying to blame MG for placing the clips in the wrong place but not so as the original MG mat I purchased fits fine. I’ve sent pics to “Dan“ and waiting for a response. Just as an aside, if @webmonkeyash is reading, the response so far not that helpful.

With so much people now taken delivery of their cars, I don't think this kind of fit would be excusable.

I have a super set on order and would not be happy if the supplied set doesnt fit as they should.
