MG4 Reviews from various online publications

This is the review that is, potentially, going to really fill the order books....
Or cause a load of cancellations...

I was waiting to sit in one to make sure I'm comfortable, but now the AWD version feels more real and 'only' 6 months away. Would potentially feel slightly disappointed if the AWD version ended up available the same time the Trophy got delivered. And as long as I don't tell the wife there was a slower version available...

Even if we get a reliable review from a reliable source, that is an actual test drive with them given the car for a few days at least, nothing is going to provide anywhere near enough assurance that you can make a decision without seeing the car for yourself.

I know people buy cars over the internet all the time, but I certainly would never do this. A test drive is a critical element and I've got a list of things I want to assure myself of, as well as confirm any areas of compromise.

Whilst the car is priced competitively, if there are things I am not prepared to live with then I will walk away. That is the point of a refundable deposit and a recognition by dealers that a test drive is needed to make such an important decision.

For those who might want one of these a bit more information about it
Les.

There's nothing new in that article. The car may well be fantastic but we are clearly going to have to wait many months before we get to the same stage as we are with the launch models.
My main hope for both is that they are more reliable than the early ID.3 cars were/are.

Hiya bugeye, I agree to some extent but the callipers seem a bit more spectacular than I had seen reported before, all I had read just said was, it had red callipers, and the wheels 18 inch, that don’t appear to have covers on them on this car, plus the tyres sizes and make, I haven’t seen that mentioned before so that’s a few new things for me anyhow.
As for me I would not want this car other than for the Green colour, love it, then again thinking about that, many years ago when I worked for a while in the motor trade doing an apprenticeship I was always told never buy a Green car, as they are unlucky and troublesome, old wife’s tale I think as many years later I bought my first Skoda Octavia estate 2 years old it was and I had it for over 5 years and it never missed a beat, so I might just risk another green one at some point.
Les.
Here’s what is said in the article which was new to me anyhow.

The dual-motor MG 4 receives torque vectoring, orange “high-performance” brake calipers, and 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels wrapped in 235/45 R18 Bridgestone tyres.

Any idea what the Infra Red sensor is for just behind the steering wheel, on top of the column ?
I'm guessing it's the same device the Toyota BZ4X has, which monitors driver movement to assess the level of alertness. When I did my recent BZ4X test drive the salesperson advised me to turn the warnings off as in the Toyota they are prone to erroneous alerts.

Was a bit disappointed by Fully charged’s review. Not the car, but the content.

Me too. I was hoping Jack would be doing the review as I am 6'6 and want to know if I'll fit and how much space people sat behind me will have.
I think this was more of a "First Look" video, as it was made at the same launch event as all the others.
Hopefully, Fully Charged will get one to play with for a week or so soonish.

Oh gosh if I was as tall as you I wouldn't be looking at a hatchback?
Thankfully the size of the car doesn't seem to correlate with the space for the driver. For example, in my LEAF I can get my fist between my head and the roof but the Ariya we test drove recently had my hair rubbing on the headliner. I had the same problem in a Model S but the 3 is fine.

I was hoping that the MG4 would be equal to an ID3 inside but I've seen it mentioned a few times that it's slightly smaller.

I wouldn't go trusting car reviewers, always test for yourself. I remember when the Honda Jazz first came out and journalists raved about how spacious it was. Never was a car so tiny in the cabin, but the boot was huge. I thought the seat was broken as it went back so little.

To this day I look for reviews where they say the boot is small, it's a good indication that the cabin is more specious.

My wife's car a Suzuki Swift, has plent of headroom and pretty decent leg room yet is 3.8m in length. Room in the back is good too. Yet others a metre longer can't achieve the same.
