MG4 Trophy 2022 model had major software update WOW!

it would already if MG had a customer portal where we could at least check the availability of updates.

Hmm they could use the app for that, would also allow easy scheduling of the appointment.

Thanks for the update - I look forward to the upgrade that my dealer said wasn't available (I notice you are in the NL though). Did you have an issue with power reducing when battery falling below 25% SOC? If so, has this been resolved too?
An update following my first annual service. All systems updated including R46 infotainment. All or most of my troubles have vanished:

Power limitation below 25% - now continues with a reminder to charge at 20% and the option for power saving below 10% - BUT no power reduction = Great
I can now set the charge limit to 80% and it stops where I tell it to
Radio is now reliable although needs to be turned on once READY on screen
Android Auto seemed to work but still drops out after a while - just easing the plug in and out resolves it - but I'm using Car Play anyway as it's wireless
LKA seems more agreeable
AC screen much improved - even my wife likes it - she's coming around
Amazingly and for no obvious reason, even though external temperatures 10C or so, Miles per Kw have improved significantly. Around town I was getting around 3.0 now consistently 4.0 and even 5.0 on one occasion.

Finally happy

Hi guys what version do I have?

You have 1100R13 Infotainment, same as I had previously (and the same as @Rolfe still has I believe). Mine is now at 1100R33, and I have a big thread all about it. :)

PS - no more comments about this here please, as this thread is about the Trophy model whereas you have an SE. :)

Wanted to throw my 2 cents in. Sent an email to MG aftersales this morning enquiring about a software update (I'm currently running R33), they've come back pretty sharpish and booked my car in for next Friday to have this updated. Apparently this is classed as a recall!

I know I saw some rumours about a recall and the LKA (ELK) system but I guess this confirms it...

Hi would you able to share the email? What did you ask them? I'm worried they will charge me for this update ?
Thank you

It wasn't anything spectacular, I enquired as I understand my current system (R33) wasn't the most up to date available and to see if I could get it updated.

They replied asking for my reg number and within a couple of hours had booked an appointment and give me a call to confirm!

As this is classed as a recall it won't cost me anything and I presume it would not cost you anything either. Although do check with your local dealer to confirm/double check.

Just had my first service and quite a few sips. Supposedly the “major” update was amongst them.

Trying to get a list from my dealer with all sips they’ve installed.

Feels like the ELK system has been updated as it definitely behaves differently. Still not sure I like the updated version. Seems to be milder but intervening more often, especially on the highway.

I might have to rebook my service appt then. As the car is on a lease scheme I booked with a local garage but not MG. I can change it to an MG garage but that nearest approved by my lease company is quite far. I might give them a call tomorrow to see if I can get my local MG garage on their books before August.

I'll be really interested to hear when (and if) someone actually gets this legendary update that tames the LKA.
I have this (I think). I have R59 and it looks like you can now turn the LKA to be alert only so that it doesn’t use the emergency assist. Unless I’ve read that wrong as the update…I can get a picture to add to this next time I’m in the car.

Do you mean without it resetting the setting every drive? You could always change this, but it would reset next time.

Also I don't believe this has anything to do with R59, that provides a more convenient way to turn it off, but the LKA sensitivity patch is going to be an update we all receive a letter about and I don't think it is out yet.

That makes sense then. It still does reset every time, so alas, it is not the legendary patch we are waiting for :(

It will never be able to keep that setting, it would lose the 5 stars NCAP. What they could do is quick load various settings, creating a user profile
Agreed in that if they don’t allow it to be auto turned off, the profile creation is the easy solution. We opt in to have it turned off on an individual basis, therefore our choice and liability. Should be easy to do that if not a straight off and remember approach.
