I agree with you, but NCAP doesn't think like usWe opt in to have it turned off on an individual basis, therefore our choice and liability.

Which would be fine were not the default settings regarding LKA/emergency braking demonstrably more distracting and/or dangerous than if they're turned off.And that's because NCAP take the view that the next driver may not be the same as the previous driver, so the car needs to reset to default settings (if driver profiles are not available).
After the updates, LKA works very well for me. TJA is unusable instead.Which would be fine were not the default settings regarding LKA/emergency braking demonstrably more distracting and/or dangerous than if they're turned off.
It's also a bit weird for the brake settings - whether you set your regen to A/1/2/3/OPD makes no difference to the next driver in terms of safety, the car behaves consistently and safely at each setting and it is purely a matter of preference.
Oh TJA has always been unusable for me. Constant twitching. After the updates, LKA works very well for me. TJA is unusable instead.
Since i got the update in January TJA has been great except I vividly remember how straight after the update it needed to be left to do its thing and calibrate itself for around 100 miles before I could trust it.Oh TJA has always been unusable for me. Constant twitching.

That’s the opposite of my experience. Before the update it would do exactly what you say especially on British roads. I drove 400 miles in France and it behaved better than in England but nowhere near as good as the current one. Occasionally it will not follow the lines and lock itself dead on straight but never suddenly steer left or right. If I were you I would have it checked and upgraded again. Although there are rumours of an impending ‘recall’ type upgrade. Before the update it worked well enough. After that it became unusable. It often suddenly veers off the road! It should help to drive more relaxed, but instead I would have to be constantly careful not to throw myself into a car or a guardrail! I have driven 10,000 km after the update, I don't think it needs to be calibrated yet
