MG4 Trophy ER
Hello to all. This is my first post, so I´m sorry if I ask for something somebody asked before, but I can´t find in a search what I need.

I expect to get my Trophy 77kWh in the next 7 days. It´s EU version, not UK (I see there are some differences).
Dealership and service center asked from me what do I want from them to do while they prepare the car for final delivery (car is already in the official dealership service center). The car have software version R40 (SWI68-29958-1300R40, Telecommunication version SNAKP21E32), it´s new, undriven.
What do you suggest to me to ask from them while the car is there. What updates/upgrades do I need to ask having in mind that it´s EU model?
Thank you in advance.

Seems a strange question from a dealer - why wouldn't they install the latest software and ensure that everything works as it should as part of the pre-delivery inspection?

It's because they are not very experienced with mg4 and they think it comes from the factory with all systems work perfectly ?
As they said to me, they didn't have any complaints from the customers about software ?
That's why I want to be infront of them.

I get mine today (uk) I'll update what software is installed with mine. The car only arrived on Wednesday and I got the impression I could have collected it as soon as I wanted so not sure how assured I am regards any pre collection checks.

As I understood, different software versions are not the same for all variants of mg4. Mine is 77kWh Trophy or in UK ER.

I had r40 before. When I received r46, ACC changed. Is the speed increasing with 1 km using a short click up? Is the car keeping up the speed in bends with ACC on?

I need to wait a few more days before picking up my car from the dealership. I just have the info about updating to R46 from R40. They told me R46 is latest update for my region.
Is ACC better with R46?

The problem with 'R46' is that it may contain an infotainment update (check if outside temperature now appears on the top bar when on Android Auto), or it is a whole group of updates related to camera modules, radar, lka etc.
But of course you can ask for the temperature reading. And if they test it before delivery, tell them to check the ACC speed drop in bends, and acc speed increase.
Otherwise, try out.

R** is the infotainment application software only
All other things like LKA ACC etc are separate updates
I've personally done all updates except the infotainment application as it's not available with the rest
I need to find a MG tech that can either load a USB stick or send me the files as it's done separately to the VDS/SIPS software

And so, after 15 days and 1000 km on mixed roads, let me give my first opinion on my MG4 77ER with R46 software.
A lot of the things people "whine" about on the forum are relatively unfounded. LKA is not as scary as I thought, sometimes it can be annoying, but it's ok. Auto high beams are also ok, no worse than my ex J11 Qashqai.
Consumption is in the range of 10 to 21 kWh/100km. The current average is 16/100km. Odo says 510km at 100%, but I'll be happy if it's 450-480. City driving is 12-15kWh/100km, country roads 12,5-14kWh/100km, highway at 115kph is 20-21.
The car is relatively comfortable for that tyre size, very easy to drive, I have no wind noises at 110-120kph, but the sound of the 235-45-18 tires is heard.
The thing is that I prepared myself for various problems that I read on the forum, but so far I have no bad impressions, and I even really like my new car.
Maps were old 22Q3, and I updated to 23Q4, with no noticeable difference.
For now, R56 is not available in Serbia, but I think next update will be (R64).

At r64 many improvements were introduced. And yes, LKA became much more modest. The 'whining' as you call it is logical if your latest software version does not include all modules, cameras and radar are poorly calibrated and your dealer doesn't fix it. Particularly, when combined with circumstances that the lka modes are challenged, then you will hear the whining. Fully understandable whining.
My 77 EU also cannot handle road markers properly. And yes, I have the latest EU updates. So I cannot use LDA or ELK modes. Once on the highway it usually is fine but I keep it on Alert 100%. ACC though really needs an optometrist because it thinks something in the lane to the right of me is driving in front of me... For the rest, and apart from the shake and vibration and a weird hum coming from the right rear side, the car is nice to drive.
Power consumption is similar although it I'm lower on the highways because speed is capped at 100 kmh mostly.
Have a great time with your car!

We all know that new update (R63 or 64, we don't know the number yet) should be released in August, but now, almost October and no update. For now I learned to live with what I have and it's not worse than any new car with same systems. In R46 LKA is not in any way dangerous, it's annoying. I assume in previous versions it was dangerous, but I would not drive car like that, and my priority would be update, and I would do everything to get it. That's why people should complain (with respect to those people) less and update more, if needed form a group and go frontal on MG, even lawsuit.
Thing I don't like, it's slowing down on ACC when making a slight curve. I'm sure that will be sorted in new EU update.
