Mg4 vin number wrong?

So i ordered a headlight from mgtitan and it ws sent according to the vin number , but this is wrong as i have the trophy so indicator in bumper and they sent headlight with indicator in it. . They told me to send it back , but i want to be sure my chassis number is good for future orders , can anyone maybe with an Se show his vin to see if there is differences ? This is mine :
LSJWH4098PN0xxxx and i can find nothing when i search

Your VIN format is the same as my car, being Prefixed LSJWH409.
I suspect there was a mistake at MG Titan resulting in the wrong part being sent.

OP - please remove your full VIN from display. Can be risky business displaying a full VIN on an open forum

Our cars are from uk stock , my car arrived in march 2023

Why is it ? If i was in uk maybe , but where i am its not risky , why they will clone one with my number in uk or somewhere else ?

I'm not sure if the VIN structure differentiates between model variants.

So how can you tell from vin if it is trophy or se ?

I don't think you can - which was the point I made earlier. However some suppliers may have a VIN lookup facility available that should derive the correct model?

Yes good point and that is why i has specifically ordered the luxury headlight because i knew mine is trophy , but they decided to go by vin which as they said says that the normal headlight is the right one for mine

Did you give them your reg no. Most sites using Reg give model no & more info.
Also, their parts list should show if there are part variations for models.
I used to get that on WIZ for my mercs

The merc vin decoder gives exact model details so AMG, AvantGarde, Classic etc..
Effectively gave access to the build sheet for the vehicle.

Reg noumber no , and i doubt they will get any info from that as i am from Malta , but i sent them a copy of the log book , but i specifically chose ' luxury' headlight , they should have asked for a photo of my headlight if unsure . Now i will have to send this back which being on an island is going to be very expensive . But lets see what they say when i tell them how much it is going cost.

People telling you not to put your vin online is pointless

Its literally available for any member of the public to see at a little viewing window at the base of your windshield. Its literally called a visible vin and is supposed to be for security purposes

Exactly that is why i dont understand why the secrecy of the vin

To be fair that’s only accessible to people physically near your car. Putting your vin online could potentially make it easy for shady individuals to make a copy of your car.

Not sure what that would be good for, but perhaps if they also copy your plate they could do stuff with a car that links back to someone else? That said the plate would probably be enough to hide behind… I guess it won’t hurt to be careful what you put online.
