Track shipping with vin-number?

Anyone know if its possible for other then dealers to search the vin-number to check where the car is located?

Think the only ones who can track are the dealers.

Edit - even at that, often the tracking system has been a bit like this…

I was told my car was “TBA”. Then got a call 2 days later it was in port.

Basically wait 16 weeks and worry afterwards. Tracking isnt going to make it faster.
