MG5 Front Passenger Door not opening

Is it a safety thing ?.
When the car is fully locked and running, if the passenger wishes to leave the car before the driver, I think the passenger has to double pump the interior handle to get out.
Once to release the lock and again to open the door.
But if the car is stopped the car will unlock and a single pump of the handle will do the job.
Or pressing the unlock button on the door card will unlock the doors ( see above ).?

Try unlocking all the doors with the button on the drivers door, I assume it's still there on the facelift, or turn off the car and then pull the handle to open the door.

Possibly

No matter what order, driver first or passenger first you have to work the handle twice but on ours and seemingly others, the handle has to be let go the first time or it doesn't work.

The double pump on the passengers door is a standard safety practice with other manufactures also.
If I am sitting in the car in ready mode and somebody wants to open one of the rear doors from the outside, I have to press the unlock button on the drivers door, before they can gain entry.
Another built in safety feature built in, to reduce the risk of theft from the car, when standing waiting at traffic lights etc.

I do understand that as I said. What is NOT standard on many other vehicles is that the first pull the handle has to be let go with a thud / twang / bang call it what you like or it will not open at all.

Yep, no issues with that and it is a configurable option.

This one just stops front seat passengers getting out unless they know how!.

Hiya, using the unlock button didn't resolve it, nor did pulling the handle then pulling again, but pulling the handle and letting it 'slap back' and then opening did the trick :)
