MG5 FULL SIZE SPARE WHEEL

Hi
I’m not sure what model Audi it was
But I have now used one of the spare alloys that I have after my alloy swop as a few people have commented on if I was in an accident with a Audi wheel on what would the insurance say
Anyway the way I look for wheels is the wheel size pcd and offset
Mg5
Wheel size 16” x 6.5”
pcd is 5x112
offset is 41mm

There where plenty on there but this one had a practically a new tyre on it???

What is really annoying is they are called "spacesaver" because...... they save space.

Looking under the back of the car there is so much available space there was never any need for a spacesaver as there is more than enough room for the spare wheel well to be full depth.

Just received my full size spare wheel (from an Audi)
The tyre is a 205/50/16
The wheel is a 6.5” x 16”
It fits in the boot spot on with the boot floor lifted to top position
(Mg5 LR)

I'd love to get a full size spare for my MG5, which particular Audi model has this same size rim and is stock tire the same as mgs. Will look on eBay and check local breakers yard. Cheers, Harreson

Alloy wheels tend to be lighter than the equivalent steel wheel although probably less so with the space saver

I've got the official space saver wheel and kit here and it doesn't weight as much as I thought it would to be honest.

Hi
You will need studs that are for the seat wheel
As for the wrench the studs on the mg5 are 17mm so just depends on the size of the studs on seat
The jack you may have to try to see wether it fits on to the jacking points ok and wether it will lift high enough and don’t forget about what weight it will lift
As for the wheel it just needs to be popped on to see if there is enough room so it’s not catch the brake caliper (the front caliper is larger than the rear) or touch the inner wing when the steering is turned from lock to lock
Also don’t forget about the load rating of the tyre

Silly question are the stud shaft size the same for the MG and Seat/VW so I just need a set of studs (assuming the wheel fits) I have noticed the Seat spare is 15 inch with a 185/65 r15 tyre so I guess it may be too small for the caliper. Advice again please> thanks for your help.

I bought a VW Golf MK5 spare for my MG5. I did get some bolts to fit it as the profile is slightly different.

Can anyone confirm the new facelift MG5 still has an option for spare wheel? That is one of the things i like about it as i believe the MG4 does not have such an option.
